Ultimate Busse Chopper

What is THE ultimate Busse chopper and why??? I'm sure it will be impossible to get an overwhelming majority to agree, but with several new wood destroyers added to the lineup..., I think the opinions should be interesting.
 
For me it's the NMFBM, it's a monster and it bites very deep with that convex grind and fine edge. :D
 
I have never used it, but the Chuckette has to be #1. It's a two-handed, massive piece of INFI.
 
Having tried most of the big boys, the MOAB gets my vote.

Of the "regular offerings"- the NMFBM gets my vote as well. That thing is a beast! The MOABs, Chuckette etc. are all very rare, and expensive items.
 
NMFBM LE...Full convex primary grind down to a zero edge plus it's size (girth weight) makes it hands down the best stock (unmodded) Busse Chopper.
 
+ 1 for the NMFBM LE even though it's the only mistress I know.
 
For me the 'Zilla and the NMFBM were similar in chopping power with the edge in power going to the 'Zilla and the edge in control going to the NMFBM. If I had to pick one it would be the NMFBM.

My AK swung two handed beat them both for power but my control was horrible so it is not really an "effective" chopper.
 
I have the NMFBM, the Zilla, and the AK.....Since I have only used the NMFBM, I cant say which is the best. But if I were to guess I would have to say the AK. This is because its a sword and you can use two hands to swing with (ie more power). But The Zilla, because it is the supreme one-handed knife, would prob out-chop the NMFBM....but again I havent chopped anything with it yet. And the only person who thinks the Zilla is an EDC is 230grains. For the rest of the world, its a bit heavy but I guess thats why it would be the best chopper
 
Another vote for the NMFBM LE here, that beautiful mistress sure makes short work of hard wood! :p

First off the Zilla falls into that category of the Chuckette or a MOAB, or some other "one of" Busse. The NMFBM LE and CG were a production release Busse of the highest caliber. Not a one hit wonder, that no one's going to remember in 5 years.:eek:

And beside that I'd like to see the Zilla do something besides chop. Ultimate means many things and the NMFBM LE is many things besides a chopper. I really believe that when somebody is looking for a "chopper" in knife form they want it to do all the other things that a knife does and chop. Otherwise they would just go out and buy an ax..........or a Zilla.:p

considering that khukuries have historically had a steeling tool and a smaller knife carried with them, I agree with 230grains basic assessment. realistically: neither blade does well at knife tasks. they just don't. you can use a machete for skinning, you can even use a .25" thick machete for it, but it'll suck to use. Throw a skeleton game warden onto both blades sheath and I'd go with the kz.

Saying that the nmfbm is anything more then slightly easier to use for knife tasks then the kz is just silly. They are almost the same size, and your going to have to choke up to the tip to do anything with the tip anyways. The kz's handle has such a better lock-into-your-hand ergonomic that I'd go with it for anything that needed to be done at the ricasso anyways.
