ultimate hard use / abuse knife

you wouldnt be the least bit disappointed in any way. If you do decide to go the ESEE route just keep in mind that the junglas is a hell of a knife and has some weight to it. So if ur back packing or carrying it often maybe the smaller sizes are the way to go. Also, either -5 or -6 are great choices. I personally chose the -6 because when backpacking and preparing camp i do alot of batoning to save energy so the slightly longer blade and lack of glass breaker fit my needs better. Good Luck on the choice.

esee makes good knives u can get a junglas for 130 or less without the nice sheath. thes busse kids wont let up huh? bussekin are nice but ther is way too many kids hypn them up. honestly they are way overpriced and overhyped the best part is for all the kids sellin busse bein the best hard use knife most dont even use em. this because they are overpriced i mean expensive. and im not her to sell esee thers alot of hype ther as well but they will do anything a busse will do for alot less

I've found this model holds up to hard use better than any of the more dainty models others have sugested:

The blade length is a little short, and the blade to handle ratio is a little excessive, but you can baton with it and not even need a baton. It's sharpened to about 20 degrees per side. It's clearly the ultimate for hard use.

Do I win the thread? :D

You not only win this thread, but you win the internets for a whole day. :D

So what did OP get? inquiring minds want to know:D

Lots of good info and lots of misinformation on this thread. I hope OP gleaned the right stuff out of it.

as a lower priced alternative, I would have recommended Scrapyard or Falkniven over all else mentioned. The only way to get tougher would be to go to custom or busse at a much higher price point.

why is extreme toughness wanted?

because of this below. Prying a knife's edge or tip out of wood is a fairly common thing when the wood is wet. A knife that can handle that is much more desirable. you don't realize how much prying is done in normal wood working field use.
