Ultimate production woods folder?

Sorry if this has been heavily discussed in the past, I went several pages back and didn't see anything along this line and of course no search available. Anyway, what would you guys consider the ultimate production woods folder? I'm more of a fixed blade guy, but always like to have a folder or 3 on me for backup in the woods :D. I have a CRKT M21 in G10 that I consider my go to woods folder, but I'm sure I could do better. I'm considering an Emerson A-100 mainly because they have a reputation for being built to take abuse and I like the straight handle so it can be used it a variety of grips depending on the job at hand. I also like that it doesn't have a thumb ramp so you can place your thumb flush on the top of the blade for carving. But I don't really love the blade shape. Other suggestions? I'm looking for straight functionality so "pretty" handle materials aren't for me.

Thanks in advance...

I would go with something more substantial like a ZT 0200, 0300 or 0500. I love my A-100 but I do not consider it a woods knife. The ZT are just more robust.

I like my Lone Wolf T2 Ranger. It has almost the exact profile as my Meaner Streets fixed blade, which is my belt knife for woods bumming.

For a folding tool, I usually carry a SAK Huntsman or Leatherman Squirt. For my main blade either my Spyderco Military or my Spyderco G10 Endura.

Fallkniven U2 is great. Very light and compact. SAK's and Opinels are very formidable as well.

Depending on your circumstances, a Leatherman Wave or equivalent multitool might be useful. If you aren't planning on fixing gear, a good SAK like the Victorinox One Hand Trekker or Ranger should cover all the bases.

We had a thread recently where someone pointed out that the A-100 was practically speaking a folding bushcrafter. The Opinel or Mercator K55K with carbon blade are simple, cheap, and reliable.

I think a folder often over looked for heavy use is a Kershaw "Needs Work" . For my money anyway.

Heres mine:

Yeah, I really like my A100 as well...my CQC-10 is another one, but the straight handle on the A100 is much better for different grips. My other woods blades are Spyderco's Military and Para-Mil knives...both are very utilitarian.

Or a 110 if you prefer a longer blade.

Either can perform just as well if not better than any already mentioned.

Matter of preference really.

Thanks for all the replies, definitely going to check some out more, especially the Lone Wolfs. And nice A-100 pics. There's just something about the utilitarian no-frills design of the A-100 that speaks to me. I have a few spydies and love them, just not for this specific application. I want something built like a tank.

Swamp Rat made a folder you can find occasionally called the rat trap. Big and tough like a Spyderco manix. I use a Buck 110 too.
