Ultimate Survival Knife

Hey T, thats good thinkin. A smoke might help to calm ya with a sense of normal in a survival situatuion.

Just dont use your only match to light it!!!!;)

I agree. I do not smoke regularly, but about two or three times a year, I'll smoke a cigarette or two because I'm feeling stressed. I grew up with my folks smoking; and I don't smoke normally, but for some reason, it calms me when I feel like things are bearin' down on me. I might be abnormal because of it, or maybe it makes me thing of my folks in times of duress, but I keep a pack stashed in my bug out box because of it.

i think that Survival knife was to us Generation X'ers what the cast iron six shooters were to our parents. i liked it as a kid, i should buy one again to go with my dads old six-gun cap shooters.

I had one of those when I was a kid. Or rather, my brother left it behind when he moved out, and my dad let me mess around with it under his supervision on occasion. It finally fell apart while we were throwing it at a big old sweet gum off our front porch. The handle just fell off completely.

We'd just decided that we were going to make a spear out of the newly handleless blade by lashing it to a broomstick, when my mother came outside and discovered us. I still don't know what happened to that blade once she confiscated it... :D

My childhood buddy has that same knife, STILL!!
I am gonna take a picture of it next time I see him
I can't remember the brand

Here is my rambo knife
I never wanted the compass "thingy" in the handle
All I needed was a sharpening stone!!:eek::cool:

Note the custom 7th grade Dremel work......

Here you go :) !!!!

Rambo ala Taiwan !!!

Blade fastens just inside hilt via bolt on screw...no lock washer. Only sissies use lock washers.

Open, with compass top (actually works) and matches, fishing line, hooks.

Probably a collector's item by now...any schlock accumulators forums? :)

If I remember correctly, Hibbens made the knife for Rambo 3.
Rambo 1 knife was made by Jimmy Lile.

Ya know, you are right. I forgot about Lile. I heard somewhere that Justin Gingrich of ranger knives has one of the Jimmy Liles.

I'll have to look around to see if I still have mine. All I remember about it is if you pulled all the wiresaw crap out of the handle, you could load up a bunch of fire crackers, and then put a lighter in the sharpening stone pouch. That way when I'm playing rambo, I can have REAL LIVE EXPLOSIONS!

Both my brother and me had one,I had my for short time, tried to improve it,poured epoxy in handle, and it was impossible to sharpen,so I turned back to Czech and Solingen knives available in those times.Brother still has his somewhere,he never used it.Only good thing about that knife was that it was cheap,it was the main reason why we bought it.It was my first and last, hollow handle knife.
