Ultra rare INFI MORA!!!

Nice thing about an inexpsensive tool, you are not afraid to test it to destruction and find that line in the sand...

Cliff was good for doing that with not so inexpensive knives.

"Nigroids" liquorice pellets?

That is probably the funniest thing I've ever seen.

That's a pretty little knife but "Nigroids" is just too funny not to focus on!

So I guess they're black liquorice?

Yeah, pillows about 4mm square and very intense. I thought they were banned as I hadn't seen the little blue tin since childhood. Found them in that white thing in a chemists the other day. Handy matchbox.

Okay, I've got to have a box of those. Can someone pm or email me? And fantastic article about the Mora. I love these knives. They take everything I throw at them just fine.

Nice but can you now show us a video of you repeatedly stabbing a pork roast as hard and fast as you can ? Make sure and get a real mean and scary look on your face.
Some folks get really excited when that happens and begin bleating out their credit card number over, and over and over..................

Good pics which give us a better look are always welcomed, thanks. These Mora blades are just neat knives with uncompromising strength, capable of doing numerous jobs outside the 'normal' cutting role of such an implement. Knives have been used for prying for countless years, some held up ok, others snapped. Then when we never seemed to have a screwdriver handy, the old knife was pulled out and subjected to more torture. The list goes on of vigorous uses...if knives could talk, what would they say to us? The Mora clan is a great credit to the cutlery business and will always have a place in my tools when I hit the road or the wilds. How can you beat it?

Must be INFI, skammer was able to break two moras, one by breaking some ice and one he stepped on. :D

Maybe misanthropist used a Busse, then took pictures with a Mora in the pipe! Yeah, that's it!!!! :D:eek: It's a conspiracy!!!!

Nice test! It doesn't look too bad afterwards either. I'd be interested to see how other knives compare, but I suppose this is the kind of test you only want to do once...

Occasionally, when I have the time, I remove the red, oval-shaped (I like oval-shaped) wooden handles off some of the knives. The red paint is burned off and the void between the tang and handle is filled with Acraglas (you can use epoxy), then assembled. After this, the handle is going nowhere without completely destroying it.

The sheath in the photo is simply scrap leather that overlays the old plastic Mora sheath (the Mora sheath is now the liner). The leather is stitched on the backside. The old flimsy loop is removed and a new leather belt loop is added. The whole job takes me about an hour (mostly waiting on the contact cement to set). Nice little project for those rainy days.

Nice! How do you get the handle off without destroying it?

Very nice! I didn't notice how shiny it was until this last picture! Now, back to the subject at hand, sorry for the brief sidetrack!!!! ;)

Keep in mind that this is a thread resurrection but the word on the street is that Misanthropist has been missing for months now  I'm definitely thinking conspiracy. Perhaps that was an INFI Mora, I'll bet there are plenty of people who would kill for it :eek::eek:

It was a common telco practice for Splicers to cut open lead-sheathed cable with the issue knife - a 2" long 5/8 x 1/16" thick tool steel sheep's foot blade with a 4" "rubber" handle to cover the stick tang. It was run fairly hard to judge from sharpening. There was a special tool, but the knife worked so well few took the time to get it out unless you were going to be cutting cable sheath all day. Stab it through with the edge up and push.

It's been many moons since the last lead-sheathed cable was deployed. Most of it was long since sent to the recyclers (Which led to $xxx,xxx,xxx.00 in court costs, settlement payments, and legal fees when the two biggest recycling sites fell afoul of the Super Fund law.)
