I’ve never seen one in a sheath. Mine usually live in the toolbox, or my tool belt if I’m using them a lot.

If you make your own from a planer blade, a piece of garden hose makes a great handle. Wire wheel it lightly for improved grip.

I might have missed it mentioned: Schrade, not my first choice but 33 bucks gets you a 7" 1095 fixed blade ,SCHF37. For a gardener, woodworker, I'd probably hit him with an Old Hickory, the 7" Butcher. ETA:leaving enough $ to buy a leather sheath.

YMMV, fun challenge though, lots of amazingly qualified pieces out there.
