Has anyone heard anything out of Derek? I know he hasn't been as active here lately due to work, but I was wondering about his situation with the flooding in WV.

He and Moose went to work at a male stripper parlor.
Business is slow and they promised a Bladeforums ban until business picks up.
Might be awhile...

Did anyone here get the saber 16 off the bay the other day? I was so caught up in the move I missed it.

Its called the Crovel. Its an interesting tool. Its handle is waterproof and has survival items inside. You can also add a spike to the end in place of the cap that threads into the handle.

Its not mine. A local customer ordered the sheath from me. I wanted to make the sheath black to match the tool but he insisted on brown to match all his other leather knife sheaths.

I got to play with it for a few weeks. I think its to heavy for what it is. But could be cool to keep in a truck I guess. There are youtube videos about it if you are interested.

Oh yeah, I just remembered something about this that I had to edit and add. The guy who makes the crovel went on the show doomsday preppers and shot his thumb off on the show. He has a mini thumb now.

Here is a video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qth1k962_9A

Cool shovel. Looks like the newest one is made of 4140. Prolly take a good beating.

Been looking for a small compact shovel to live in my truck. Prolly just get a military issue e tool and be done with it.

Was going to get the cold steel shovel... But the wood handle is the draw back there. Breaks... Less compact than e tool...

It's possible, but they're a very popular tool and I haven't seen a report of one breaking. I keep a couple full size shovels from walmart in the back of my K5. They were $4 back when I bought them. I broke one once but I wasn't shoveling with it when I did it.

Thank you! Talking to you has me feeling very motivated. I think I'm going to have a good summer. :)

I dont remember Moose doing any leather work but I sure do miss having him around. He was a lot of fun. Crazy bastard.

Yes'ir. He stopped shortly after myself and someone else started selling. I can't remember who though for the life of me. I'm sure a search might turn something up.

Damn! I AM blue... I'll have to fix that.
You can touch my toy anytime! ('Lil .... Haha)

Hahaha yeah just a Lil .... !! Haha

They'll Break when you need it most. Of course being wood... Even in the Bush, i could make a makeshift handle. Always have a decent sized blade in the truck. But I'd rather not have to.

I got a full size razorback shovel. Love it. Wasn't cheap and its heavy.... But when i have to dig I'd prefer it over anything else. But it doesn't fit well in the truck. I want compact. E tool would fit in one of the backseat compartments.

I still want a cold steel sf shovel... Just prolly won't be the truck shovel.

I have a Glock entrenching tool that's fantastic if you front a bit of dough, it collapses compactly and has a virtually unbreakable handle that cuts down on weight quite a lot. I've had mine for 3 years and it's gone through a ton of work without so much as a whine.

I traded texts with him the other day - he's been working 15 hour shifts all month, so no time to play.
he's doing OK and was not personally involved in any of the flooding, although I suspect it's why he has been doing 15 hour shifts...

Haha. :D

Thanks man. Got the idea from NCSlice. Needs a better background though.

Hah that's funny...at first I kept thinking one of your other posts was mine as I scrolled past. Looks great man, I like the green on black. You do your spring job yet?

Thank you for all the compliments my friends. I really appreciate it.

Leather work has been amazing for me. It really filled a creative gap in my life. I wish I had found it when I was younger and more motivated.

Great stuff man! I really cherish my pocket sheath.
The 11 has moved in and I carry and use it every day. Still looks new and retention is rock solid.

No I haven't. Have to replace the starter first, haha. Hoping things like that wouldn't happen right off, but, what the hell, it is 22 years old.
