I would prefer Torx screw here, like Microtech Whale Shark CTS-204P version.

Great pictures! What type of camera did you use?

Also, do you happen to know what the small house looking mark is for on the blade?

Wow, those are some great pictures. Nice macro lens on your rig I reckon

The shot of the detent ball is crazy. It almost looks a little sloppy until you realize how small it actually is. Is the ball able to rotate freely or is it kind of crimped in tight?

Thanks for sharing this.

I believe that's a "V" for designating the steel type (S30V or S35VN, I'm not sure which).

Yes, no plastic deformation only...
I think, Chris knows best.
However, it looks like fairly secure.

I don'n know about house looking mark.

I used Panasonic GH2 camera and LEICA DG MACRO-ELMARIT 45mm F2.8 ASPH lens.

Great Pics Dude!!
Makes me wanna have a macrolens(&an Umnum...) as well!!

Thanks for posting!

I bought a Umnumzaan a couple of weeks ago, and am 50-50 on whether to keep or sell it. These pics have pushed me to about 60-40 to keep. I'm a Umnumnewby, and these pics have helped me, so thanks.

Nice pics man :thumbup:Just got my Umnum last week and I freakin love it, In fact it makes me want the 25 even more. There is something about that ceramic ball that I dig I guess:D

Dang, I have taken both my Umnuzaans apart several times and have never seen them this clear (old eyes). Thanks for the great pictures. And Powernoodle don't sell you Zaan to soon give it a try, it is a wonderful knife.

Yeah Powernoodle give it a chance. Especially if you haven't broken it down and given it a full cleaning, you really do need to set the 'zaan to your own preference using loctite, plus fresh crk grease on that washer will be dreamy.

sick pics! this is awesome to look at
never took mine apart, nice to see how it's inside, how the ball in encapsulated and how wide the pivot is
love the "tool" you made

V should be S35VN , S is S30V or should be

thanks
Maxx

Great pics, makes me miss mine a bit. The V on the blade is for S35V, S is S30V, C is for Classic blade, but it is still s30V. Great pics, enjoy your knife!

Those are some amazing high quality pictures!

Thanks for favorable comments, guys.
I have taken a lot of photos of my Umnumzaan since I bought it (June 2012).
If it's not offtopic, I'll put some of these pictures here.

More nice pics. I have to admit I like the look of the lock bar stabilizer with the CRK logo.

Same here. Mine is VERY stiff though so i dont know how anyone could have ever over extended the lock bar. Unless the stop added some strength.
