Is this a 350 modified? whats the story on this one?

WOW! amazing work! I am liking that pattern a hell of a lot more than the "anso" style

Thanks bad_juju, I need to find that FAQ on posting pics. :)

Below are a few more pix... I need to clean up the spine better (need a smaller contact wheel) and what I wouldn't give if I had the skill to put in a nice swedge... That'd be sweet...

It was a bit big knife for me. Now I like how the blade tucks deeper into the handle. Eventually I'll get around to tapering the edges of the handle to further reduce bulk...

I am also trying to figure out how to satin the blade... Drive out the stud, satin, then drive back in??

Have fun Modding!!

No problem buddy! Easiest way is to create a photobucket account. You can upload your pictures to it. once they are uploaded and in your library there will be side bar that has the different links for images. click on img code and it will copy it for you then simply paste the copied img code in your reply!

If you use a dremel, they have a small cheap attachment that lets you guide and control the angle. or you could go old fashioned and use a file!

There are a few ways to strip the dlc but it is hard stuff to get completely off. I'd suggest doing a stone wash if you went this route. You can use brasso or sand paper whatever you have to strip.

The stud can be tricky if you don't have the right setup. I used a small socket on the back side and a rag between it and the blade. I put that into a medium vise and slowly started cranking. I got it flush to the blade pretty easily. The hard part is getting it all the way out! I had to sacrifice a philips screw driver i cut down and turned into a punch the correct size. I used the same socket this time on the front to cradle the punch and a little longer one on the back side to finish removing it. When putting it back in it's reverse of this. To get it startded again I just got it set in straight by hand no sockets in the vise and started cranking. Then getting back to the sockets to straighten it out.

My tips:
Put a towel under the vise to catch the sockets and most importantly the thumb stude if it drops!! Also help to put tape on the edge just in case for easy handling.

This is how I did it and it worked great!

And here are your pics!

Got this in a trade awhile back. Original owner had someone remove the "curve" with a paper wheel and it was horrendous. Going to send it in for a new blade. I sanded the scales down and removed the flipper and shined everything else.

Sorry for the crappy pictures.
