I don't care which one I get so I just sent an email for yangdu to pick one out...if anything is left. :(

tom

Better try again :D

Have Yangdu pick one out for you if there is any left over..I missed #3 when she posted these up...got a fast shark in the waters....so I sent an email right back asking her to pick one for me and this was the #..good luck!

I'm glad that I just looked at this. If I had seen it an hour ago I would have tortured myself thinking about buying one even though I'm broke. Since I'm leaving the office now, I won't have the tempation to buy one.

They are beatiful. I'm a sucker for antler anyways.

Eighty-five Dollars?! I just paid that much to replace a flat tire supposedly covered by a road hazard policy and fill up the Jeep! Anyone who doesn't beg, borrow or steal the gelt to buy one of these doesn't know what he's missing.

Dang, they sure are pretty. I wish I wasn't quite as broke as I am. Bura did a great job... a great memorial to Uncle.

These are, without a doubt, the finest knives HI has ever produced. Anyone who doesn't get one will be sorry.

Berk, you are making the argument with my better half easier and easier:D I was having second thoughts, but these are just too good to pass up. I haven't been this excited about getting an HI knife since...well since the last time i got one a few weeks ago, but you guys see where i'm going with this;)

Here you go, Jake:

"Honey, you have to understand that this isn't a purchase, but an affirmation to the heroic nature of mankind itself. This simple blade, hand-made by illiterate villagers in a far-distant and primitive corner of the world is a testament to a man...ONE man...who searched his abilities and his soul to find a way to create an income stream to poor, neglected, and abused men, women and children in a country still ruled by a Royal Family, of all things. The creators of this blade are considered the lowest caste of all of that country's society and to this day, marvel at the humanity and openess of the man this blade celebrates.

Did he need to do this? No. Did he have special connections which made this possible? No. But this one man, this Bill Martino, gave of himself and his life to make it possible for medical help, some education, a future of hope for hundreds of people worlds away from us.

In doing so, he re-affirmed that one person can make a difference, and that one man need not be a celebrity nor statesman.

This is not a knife, honey...this is a symbol of hope, of determination, and of the true spirit of humanity. This is a representation of what I strive to be."

Should work.

Be well and safe.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Kismet again.

On a lighter note, I bet Bura's arms are pretty tired.

Thanks, Kis. Beautiful words, but i'm afraid i've used that logic before. She understands it. She's a good egg and has always thought a lot of what HI does for Nepal. She doesn't mind my vice, if you can call it that, but she's not working (her own fault...not mine) until her "real" job that she's gone to school 6 years for starts next month. I've told her for several months that something special was coming. Something that would honor a man that not only shaped me a young professional, but also as a young man. We generally talk out the things we want with one another, but this one issue that was not up for debate. He who brings home the bacon must be allowed to live high on the hog at least some of the time;) I haven't eaten lunch in 3 months for this knife:)

Okay, who's etched one? Or am I jumping the gun a bit? :)

Satori I haven't had the heart to do anything with mine except to pull it out of its scabbard and fondle it once in a while. When you get yours you'll understand.;)

This may be the one and only khuk that doesn't get the receipt test.:o ;)
