Hey guys, let's see the best traditional folders that you've picked up for $10.00, or less, at a flea market, garage sale, gun/knife show, or an auction. I've been searching a lot lately, but haven't been super successful. Just curious what some of you have found for next to nothing.

I've found a few, but the one that stands out right now is the MADE IN USA Camillus made scout knife I found at a junk knives dealers table (no name clones etc) at a farmers market. I think I paid 6 or 7 bucks for it, no one wanted it, it had a big chip in the edge. I sharpened it out, a useable edge, but never carried it. I gave it to my baby sisters boyfriend, he likes knives, but doesn't really collect them. I gave him a Remington bushpilot that had been worn down on the main blade, but was laser sharp, his grandfather, a knife collector, went bananas over that.

I picked up my first "proper" traditional knife in an antique shop for a bit more than 5 dollars. It's an old Russian stainless one blade barehead knife with mother of pearl scales, barely 2.5 inches closed. It was the inspiration for my username here. :D

Also, an old unmarked electrician's knife for 2 dollars. Wood scales (walnut or something, idk), single stainless blade with that wire cutting thingy on the tang.

Too many to count here's a few to get you started. I started collectin' spendin' no more than a few dollars per knife and a lot of shoe leather worn wanderin' the flea markets and yard sales to find reasonably priced older traditional knives.

Enjoy and remember the <$10 knives are out there you just gotta look. ;)

The brown Imperial TL29 was ten bucks at a flea market. The RR may have cos less than that.

Had to include the RR toothpick because it was something like seven bucks brand new.

Hey, I could fit half my collection into this thread! :D

Here's my most recent bargain. It was a bit of a rusty mess, but cleaned up into a pretty nice little Camillus 4-line Junior Scout. It cost me right at $10, hope that qualifies...

This other one was definitely a bargain at $3, IMO. Not a knife, but who has ever seen poultry shears with MOP inlays?

It's about the hunt right Jack? I love the search and then subsequent research that leads either to the history or age of a knife.

I learn more when I look at a knife I've bought and don't know anything about it, than one I could tell you everything about.

Ted, I like the "end of the trail" knife. That inlayed wood looks cool.

Picked up this gem at a flea market! I wish I had taken a before picture, but it was a diamond in the ROUGH. Great snap on both blades and looks to have never been sharpened. I cleaned it but left most of the staining since it tells a story.
It is a Challange brand sleeveboard:)

Some cool stuff, so far, can't wait to see more. I've been having a blast looking through the odds and ends at the flea market lately. The couple that I've found recently, at that price range, were a 1988 Buck 303 for $8.00 and a USA made Schrade 34OT for $8.00 also. I'm really happy with both of them, but hope to find something a little less common. This all came about because my wife has had a lot of medical issues lately that have financially sunk us, but honestly it's a lot more fun and rewarding than ordering a new $300.00 + knife. A couple dollars and a little effort makes for some great additions to my collection.

My pre-birthday fun show presents to myself! Excepting for the wood handled knife everything was less than $10 in the end. Sadly I didn't notice the Mora 2000 is a knockoff until I got home!! Never in my life would have thought people were counterfeiting Mora's.....

The under $10 deals are what I live for! So much value and diversity in slip joints in that range. One of my favourite all time slip joints was purchased for 50cents! Lasted in my pocket beside hundred dollar knives until the end tension cap broke.

While my Customs start at $200.00 and go up to whatever the customer wants to spend,

Small pocket knives are, well, Small pocket knives, and are used for light to medium jobs! It really doesn't take much to cut a Apple, Open a Box or cut a piece of string. Many at the $10.00 mark will fill the bill!

Imperials and Colonials can still be had for $10 and under in a variety of patterns in endless colors used on the tin shell knives they both were known for making from the 50s till today. At least the Colonials were still being made till about 20 years ago.

First, let me say that I have quite a few brand new Rough Riders (or Taylor Imperials) that I paid under $10 for, and most of them are excellent knives! But the OP wanted to know about bargains found at garage sales, flea markets, gun&knife shows, and so on. I have to confess that I've so far had no luck with garage sales. But I had one good day at a flea market, and many good days at the local gun & knife show.

Picked up this Camillus electrician for $10 at the first gun & knife show I attended. It's one of my favorite knives; I think it looks very elegant and distinguished!

Got this 1936-1952 equal end Imperial for $5 at a gun and knife show. Dull blades when I got it, but recently it became one of the first knives that I consider that I've sharpened successfully (still no burr, though :().

Bought this fine condition Imperial Barlow for $10 at the local gun&knife show, and gave it to a BF member who really yearns for Imperial Barlows.

Another $10 at the G&K show that comes to town about 4-6 times per year got me this brand new Chinese-made Remington canoe that I think is drop-dead gorgeous.

While vacationing in Michigan's Upper Peninsula a couple of summers ago, I went to the weekly Sunday flea market in a little town and found all of these for under $10 apiece (the photos were taken after I tried to clean the knives up a bit):

Wenger Esquire (compare to Vic Classic)

Finally, here's an example of what careful shopping can sometimes get: picked up this Tinker and a matching Vic Classic for just under $20 on sale at Menard's, so that's under $10 per knife.
