Underrated Cutlery Brands ?

I would say that Kizer is underrated, my Ray Laconico "Intrepid" is awesome. It's smooth as butter, carries great and locks up perfectly at about 40%. With the steel insert I shouldn't have to worry about over travel as a tend to flip mine a lot.

I agree, even though their are many people on the Kizer bandwagon, and for good reason. It's the people that can't bring themselves to buy a China made knife that are missing out.

I may just have to pick up a Kizer knife. I know they are made in China.

You won't be disappointed. I own 3...Gemini, customized Flashbang and received a Vanguard Intrepid (G-10 version) yesterday. If these were USA Made, I could see people paying double and being happy with their purchases. I honestly don't know of any other brands at their price point and quality level.

I carry a Smith & Wesson revolver and a Buck 110. The pistol is from the 60's and the knife from the 70's. Neither is cool but both are very functional.

I carry a Colt Detective Special and a Rough Rider trapper.

Nowadays both the revolver and the knife I carry are seriously underrated and other gun and knife lovers look at me like I'm crazy. Hey man! If it works it works.
The Rough Rider Knives are very under rated and I worry that I'm going to see the price start climbing every day.

I'd have to say Mcusta, I have 2 and they are excellent!!
Pro Tec....maybe not under rated, but definitely not spoken of much. I have 5, 4 autos and a manual. They are some of the best knives I have! Excellent customer support also! I'd say Pro Tech is my favorite knife company.

Taylor's Schrade line comes to mind immediately.

And Buck doesn't get the respect it deserves these days.

Agreed, the schf42 is a great knife...
I like the leather sheath that comes with it and when the handles are changed its a great rig IMO...

Unfortunately, when you start looking at $40ish to change the scales and 40ish for a kydex sheath it becomes apparent I could have bought a knife in a different category. I like the knife, but it should be delivered with better handles And a kydex IMO, as it loses its budget value by the time it's actually ready to go..

so true. if kizers knives were stamped usa, people would be paying midtech prices for them.

Country of origin isn't an issue. aslong as its a quality knife that's what matters to me.

except north Korean knives, don't know that id buy one :p
