Unstoppable Glocks?

I don't know how to load a direct like to youtube, but if you click HERE you can see a Glock 18 spit 300 rounds without a jam or ftf! You can't put a price on reliability.
Oh yeah, Ive seen that and I WANT!

I love Glocks I have said before they are a utilitarian type of pistol. The pistol does not cater to the shooter, but as long you like it. The pistol will perform, the Glock 9mm rides with me when I'm out in the wilderness.

Unstoppable?

Coulda fooled me ;)

Being a little unfair aren't ya? Showing the damage but no story? This and most other catastrophic failure glocks experience are due to idiots behind reloading presses. The "Check out my new super load!" Crew. No gun deals well with over charged or double charged rounds. Not even my beloved Ed Brown 1911. It's a $2,300.00 Handgun and a 30 cent bad round could ruin it beyond repair.

My personal Glock assortment includes G36, G32, G19, G34, G21... they go bang everytime.

Infi-del, my thoughts were either a double charged round as you said, or a bad primer round shot halfway down the barrel & another round coming right behind it or two since everyone wants to see how quickly they can empty their magazines. I can not ever remember seeing anything like this caused by a "normal" circumstance. I emailed this to my brother (State Trooper) to get his thoughts on a possible cause. Hope M.R. comes back & posts his story behind this.
Be safe.

There are haters on either side of any product debate, and they only seem to get more heated when it comes to guns or knives. And they'll come out of the woodwork whenever someone starts in with a different opinion. That blown-to-bits polymer frame was most definitely not caused by a factory round. Period. Bad/overcharged reloads kill revolvers, 1911's, name it.

I went to SIG School about 6-7 years ago. It was a blast.

Some folks had SIG's. Some 1911's. I think one Keltec. About 40% had Glocks.

After 2 days, no cleaning and nasty, dirty sintered ammo, there was only one brand of pistol that didn't jam once. Glock. Every other pistol type failed. In fact, every other PISTOL failed. No one was without. . . except for us Glockers. :) 40% of the pistols. Zero failures. (Except for my bad-primer hit once. Not my fault or the gun - the primer hit was hard and proper. The sucker was a dud round.)

Mine was tricked out with XS Bigdots and some nice grippy med-tape. That was a fun 3 days. I was exhausted by the end, tho. I just couldn't concentrate on shooting anymore.

I gotta know the story behind these pictures . . . Wrong caliber, barrel stoppage, dropped, ? ? ? Thanks for posting.

Bad reload was one and the other was a squib.

Every gun has the possibility to KB, the only gun that you'll be hard pressed to find photos of a KB is a CZ75, but thats only because they have a tendancy to just shoot the mag out and not show any damage, thats not to say they don't KB.

I'm not making an anti-glock statement, I'm just saying that they aren't "unstoppable".

I thought it was interesting in that one of the USP tests was to purposefully set up a squib and fire it, and see what happened.

Damn, I hope no one got hurt. I was the unfortunate witness of seeing a .45 1911 blow up a few years ago, luckily the shooter had ear & eye protection on, but it still tore up his hand, arm, & the side of his face. Thanks for letting us know the story behind it.

In all my years of shooting, I've never had a single failure of stoppage of any kind with either of my Glocks- I have a 19 and a 21. My brother's father in-law was shooting with us one time, and managed to limp-wrist my 21 so badly that he actually got the thing to stovepipe. I'm still irritated about that! He ruined my guns' perfect record! I've never personally seen anyone have a FTE with a Glock before or since.

I had a number of FTEs out of my CZ85 due to a very weak extractor spring...Then again this was also the gun that I shot the barrel smooth so I guess it might have been due to be replaced as well :p Tossed in a extra power spring and we were back in business.

CZ makes a wonderful pistol and I think they are very underrated (and underexposed).

FWIW though they are totally different breed of pistol than glocks (in general). Both great guns though. I almost caved on a CZ P01 the other day. Don't believe I've held a finer feeling compact.

I love my 1911s, CZ-75, 92F, S&W wheelgun, etc., but if the SHTF and I had to grab one pistol, it would be my Glock 22. Simple and totally reliable. (The CZ-75 would be my second pick.)

Stay sharp,
desmobob

I like my Glock, and it's reliable - just like my 1911s, SIGs, and HKs.

9mm vs .45, Glock vs Whatever, it's all the same argument about personal preference.
