Another great knife Ray. I really like how you started curving the cap. Nice touch especilly on our style knives. Jim

Ray,

On the earlier photo you had a loop at the butt cap, later it doesn't appear visible. Did you change the manner of attaching the butt cap?

You make it look so easy Ray. Your knives are some of my favorite out there, and that's the honest truth. I love the simple lines, and plungecut-less style (which i use with most of mine too since it's a favorite of mine)

Did you treat the bone at all beyond the dye?

What your referring to I call a ring nut. For several years all my knives had them but some complained about the noise they made plus I find them pretty dangerous to make. Anymore I just use the nuts to hold things together. After the epoxy sets up for several hours I'll remove the nut and peen the end of the tang.

Justin,

After I dyed the bone I soaked it in a 50/50 mix of linseed oil and turpentine. I also force dry it over several hours at 120 degrees.

great looking knife, really like the dark color of the handle and the fittings are very nice!

If you've ever turned out anything less than amazing, I've never seen it. Your work is top notch from tip to butt as always, Thanks for sharing
Nathan

What is dangerous about making those rings, Ray?
