Of the 4 choices (plus "none of the above") I might be inclined to pick up the new Sage. I do have my eye on a couple other 2014 offerings though, including the Roc, Kiwi4, Firefly, and the Sprint Worker.

My new Spyderco C123CFBAP Sage 3 will be here on Thursday. That'll complete my set of 5 in the Sage Series (two of the different type 3's).

The only other one from Taichung I'm looking forward to is the Southard Black C156GPBBK and looking to get a CF scale / LBS to match the blackened titanium side.

RamZar got the new sage 3 today and it completes my set of all 5. You will love the new sage 3. Taichung is making some fine folders.

Southards are nice but do not approach being worth the price tag

I disagree.

You can get a brand new Southard for $234 delivered from KnifeWorks.

This is a very high-quality framelock flipper with CTS-204P.

I agree with RamZar's disagreement. Great knife at the going price.

Also, back to the off-topic scotch discussion I inadvertently started earlier, let me commend you on your fine taste once more, RamZar. Those are some spiffy Lagavulin expressions indeed.

Right back at you dude with your excellent taste in knives (and scales) and Usquebaugh.

I'm REALLY curious about the Chaparral Stepped Titanium selling for around $350 on the street. 3D milling is expensive. Anybody has one and can relate some personal experience?

Nice collection of Distiller expressions! I've only been able to find one bottle and I've been milking it for quite a while. Their 12 year old cask strength is quite good as well, certainly has an extra kick to it. Next on my list is trying the Laphroaig cairdeas, I've heard some good things about that.

Anyway, that shot show video put the new Chap on display pretty nicely and I really liked the 3D effect you get from those machined scales. It's more money than I really want to spend on a Chap, but I do think it's a work of art. If they did the same sort of thing on a Sebenza, it would sell for probably $600-700 I bet.

I was in Spyderco's factory store in Golden on Saturday and saw one and it was very nice. I will say that I had an opportunity to hold and admire many of the Taiwan made folders and I was blown away by most of them. It was the first chance I'd had to hold the Southard and Domino among others. I'm in serious trouble...in addition to the ones I already knew I wanted, I added several more to my wish list.

I think I saw this knife at my knife store the other day , I wasw wondering why a Chaparral was in the case where they keep custom microtechs and hinderers etc. I assume it was this version and I will say this , Under light that knife blinged like a hip hop artist's chain...

I would have much preferred a smooth version of the Titanium Chaparral. I don't like any of the current scale patterns.

Looks like the prices on the Chaparral Stepped Titanium are dropping. I saw one at HKS!

The new Tusk is now available at GPK.

At first I thought southard was going to be DLC coated, but upon hearing it is ticn coated I wouldn't take it for half price.

Black blade = nasty cheap
