Upcoming VIPER Swayback

Got mine in today, just about the right size IMO. I like the Case Swayback as a shirt pocket knife, and this one feels hefty enough for some real work.

Came sharp, took the hair right off the back of my hand. Well centered, no play, probably a 6 on the pull scale.

Mine did have a nice gap on the pile side scale, I took the scale off and found a nice burr on one of the spring rivets. Fired up my worksharp and made it nice and smooth. Reattached the scale and got a nice, tight fit now.

I like the pivot personally.

Some more shots of the Swayback.
Some have pointed out the backspring and how nicely it mates with the blade when open. I couldn't agree more. It's one of the best features on this.

I also like how the spring is polished to a nice shine. If the bolster and pivot were like this, we'd be seeing a total home run IMO.

Pinemoon Pinemoon I completely agree. These are beautiful knives and a lock back option would be fantastic.
Yes!
Let's hope CK is listening :)

A lock back on a swayback pattern? I'm not sure about that one.
But, I have been waiting for them to produce one of their modernized-traditionals with a lock back. I'd buy one for sure.

My desire for this as a lockback probably reflects my fairly recent realization that I just love lockbacks.
I could see this as a lockback, maybe a mid-lock rather than a tail-lock. It'd be great :)
