(UPDATE 6/16/16 - WINNER ANNOUNCED) I was going to do a giveaway, but my dog ate it

Beautiful knife, and lovely dog. I've enjoyed everyone's pics of their dogs. I don't have one, but have 3 cats, 3 geckos and a giant fat rabbit, oh, and 4 boys. I fear a dog would put us over the edge.

I usually stay out of most GAWs, but this one, I couldn't resist. A knife like that with a cool history is a hard thing to say no to.

Thanks!

And our always on duty guard cat, Lilly Bell:

Lilly Bell looks as if she isn't tolerating any nonsense! Beautiful cat. :)

My fearless cat Daisy, guarding the keyboard and mouse from any unauthorized (or authorized) access.

And a knife pic, to keep Gary and Frank from banning me.

Still not an entry, just wanted to post a cat pic. :)

I'd like to be in, but not enough posts. However, here are 'da-boyz'

I'm in!

I too haven't been here much lately and have deeply admired that knife for a while. As for why you've been absent, I completely understand as my boy Scout gave me thirteen incredibly wonderful years.

I'm NOT in, and I'm late to da "partee" but here's my beautiful bitch, Kiera, a rescue that I can't live without. Believe she's a Plot Hound, possibly mixed with Black Mouth Cur.

Dogs' eyes...

Very generous of you comeuppance, Casina is a beautiful dog. I had a pit named Maverick for over ten years, he was an awesome dog and changed a great deal of minds about the breed. I miss him every day.

I don't spend nearly as much time on this subforum as I used to, but, I honestly don't have many questions or observations or commentary to make on traditional knives these days... Thanks almost entirely to you guys. I've narrowed down my tastes considerably and have been introduced to a broad spectrum of knives that I would never have even given a sideways glance to otherwise. Generosity is abundant here and I want to add on to the pile!

So, I hereby offer up my most treasured knife, traditional or otherwise. A knife that has crossed borders and changed hands a number of times. A knife that is entirely unique and is basically the coolest thing ever. A knife that was gifted to me and it is time to gift it to someone else. A knife that was expertly hand-crafted by Esnyx and inexpertly patina'd by myself with some big lots mustard and a q-tip:

The Esnyx Proto Scout

THE RULES/QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE GIVEAWAY:
  • Must have been a member for at least 6 months
  • You must have at least 400 posts to your name
  • You must not intend to sell or trade the knife <- I'm very serious about this! Please abstain from entry if you think that would be what you would end up doing. This should go into using hands, or at least appreciative collector hands!
  • One entry per person, although commentary and other posts are welcome!

HOW TO WIN:
  • Make a post in this thread with an "I'm in" or something to that effect! That's all. If you want to share experiences you've had on this forum, your own personally most-treasured knives, pictures of your pets, whatever!

UPDATE 5/31/16: A CHALLENGER APPEARS!

Esnyx has thrown his hat in and is adding a customized GEC as a second prize! Additionally, the giveaway has been extended to Esnyx's birthday, adding an additional six days to the drawing (now June 16th!). More info, pictures, etc to come after BladeShow!

This giveaway will run until 12:01 AM June 16th, 2016 to give some of our traveling and/or less active (but still appreciated) members a chance to get in on it. The winner will be announced shortly after using a random number generator. Shipping is on me for USA, and an international winner would need to help me out a touch depending on what it would cost (I have $6.10 budgeted for shipping)

As for the title of this thread, one of the reasons I've been less active lately and also have been clearing out a lot of my collection is my new dog, Casina, who I have been spoiling absolutely rotten (although she doesn't know it):

Not an entry (Not enough posts), but it has occurred to me this picture was taken on Riverside in T-town. Nice to know there's another like minded dude in this city.
