*update* Has anyone added bearings to their knives?

2nd iteration went twice as well, but I still don't have the process perfect. I believe I would do better with a mill instead of my cheapo drill press. However, I have the bearings in my pivot and the knife put back together and working. It has a little bit of lock rock since I didn't get the depth of cut right on one of the liners, but I'll be damned if it doesn't flick out with some real authority. I'm getting closer, and I'm learning something every time I try :)

Dude that's awesome! Congrats on seeing it through. Not that I doubted ya, but it's not easy I'm sure.

Great job, keep up the good work and get it perfected. If you wanted I'm sure people would want your mod.

Thanks man, I'll certainly work on improving it. I'll continue to update when I have more progress, but it might be a little while before my next test.

Very cool improvement. It would worry, though, with the blade now rocketing out it might start damaging the blade stop?

Still, pretty sweet mod. You should do a ZT 550 and laugh at the 560.

I like that idea, and I'm not too concerned about impact on the blade stop. I'm more concerned about the integrity of the pivot area since I milled away a lot of material in the liners. Haven't seen any issues yet though.

What I'd really like to do next is take the assist out of some Kershaws/ZTs and replace it with bearings. That would give me an excuse to buy more knives so I can experiment :D

This is awesome!
I always wanted to do that as well.
What ball bearings did you end up using (dimensions) and what size pivot is in Tenacious?

Off the top of my head, I believe they are 25/64" OD and .0625" height, not 100% sure about the ID or pivot though. I can check tonight or tomorrow for sure.
