Thought I would do an update on this issue. After using the knife for a couple of months (including taking it apart for cleaning several times) the detent rock went away on its own.
I believe the turning point was a month ago when I had to use it to quarter a mule deer (esee got dull) and got the pivot good and marinated in blood
