UPDATED 8/20/2013! My Woodcarvings (With Some Becker Content)

Nice work man. Getting ready to get into carving myself. I got a knife set, but still need to get the finger and thumb protectors, as well as a glove. Scorps are next on the agenda.

Yours look really nice! I always struggle digging into the spoon-bowl part. I can never get them the right shape or depths. mine are about as good as a taco bell spork and yours could be at fancy restaurants with 7 different forks and you don't know which one is proper to use.

Great stuff!

Please come check out this thread and add your work to it... Whatcha whittlin' these days?

I just did, thanks for the link. :)

Nice work! I'll definitely mark your Flickr page to see what you're working on.

Great!

love the carving axe :)

I do too, if you don't mind spending the money it's wonderful. It is handmade and it feel really warm and personal.

Thanks, if you keep at it I'm sure you'll reach good carvings soon.

Thank you very much Ethan, it means a lot. Are/when are the BK24s going to be available to the public? I think I'm going to need one, then again, I also need an 11 and a 14...

Very nice work. I am impressed and will be following the fliker site as time permits.

Thank you. :)

If no one is opposed, I think I"ll just keep posting whatever new carvings I make in this thread. Would that be alright with you guys?

As promised, here are some more carvings. :)

Here is my second kuksa along with two new spoons. They are birch. :)

I've got some more cool stuff coming down the pipeline, so stay tuned.

thanks for the video. I've always wanted to improve my carving and i'm a little lazy when it comes to huntin down youtube vids.

I usually use a hot coal to burn out a scoop for my spoon and then just carve around it. Not nearly as good looking but pretty functional.

I also used a coal to do my first one. Here it is. :) :D

That just shows how much a few better tools and practice can help.
