So I decided to give Emerson another shot. The wifey told me to pick out a birthday present so I sent her a couple of links and I now have a CQC-15 in black and a Vindicator in satin on the way!

I had a Horseman and a satin 15 but had to sell them before I got some good use out of them, bills and such is life. I've always been on the fence about the grinds but there is something about the blade shape of the 15 that I just cant overlook so I figured I would give it a chance again. I was almost set on a Horseman until I saw the Vindicator. I dont find my way over to this part of Bladeforums often and I admittedly am not familiar with a lot of their designs but I was immediately sold.

Anyone wanting to share pics or stories of their 15's or Vindicators (or others) feel free. I am just really excited to get them and wanted to share my excitement! I will try and grab a few pics to post up before I hand em over unless I can talk her into letting me keep them sooner. :D

Happy Birthday. I had a mini 15, it was cool. At the time I had trouble sharpening tantos so I gave it to a friend. Dumb mistake. Good amount of blade for the amount of handle. Never had a vindicator, you should post pics when the arrive.

Thanks, it is rolling around the corner pretty fast.

And I will definitely post some side by side and comparison shots. I'm not the greatest at sharpening tanto blades but I picked up a sharpmaker recently and have been getting pretty good with it so I am hoping between that and my strop it shouldnt be too bad.

Here is a picture of my Vindicator I took a couple days after getting it. Congrats on 2 fine knives:cool:!

Well if your wife sprung for an Emerson, she is generous. When you get yourBirthday present read the owners guide on the forum. STICKEY, and good information.

The CQC-15 was my first and it's a great knife. I've carried it on duty as a firefighter and used it in general EDC tasks and it excels in both fields. I've used it on a lot of different materials, cardboard, paper, aluminum cans, wood, plastic, and more and it hasn't failed me in any task. The black coating holds up really well too. After the Commander models, the CQC-15 is my favorite I think.

The 15 was my first Emerson also, it was actually my first quality knife and the one that got me serious about knives. It's a great design with a comfortable handle no matter how it is held and a blade that has a great combination of features. I just recently picked up a Vindicator and it is nice too but I like the 15 a lot more. Once you have these you are going to want more.

Awesome knife! I don't have one currently but it's on my short list. I ordered some clearance items from their online store (shirts, etc.) and they included a really nice catalog with the package. The whole CQC series is in it and I really like the 15. Heck, I'm pretty much a fan of all Emersons, which my favorite being the old school Commander. Happy Birthday, and be sure to post some pics!

Had a few 7s all good stuff. I'm digging the pic of the vindicator. Kind of seems like a cross between the commander and the 13, which I'm also wanting. It will never stop.

The 7 is a really odd profile to me just looking at it in pics. I really wanna take a look at one up close before I make a purchase on it. The biggest reason I like the tanto on the 15 is the recurve and the ergos. The 7 doesnt LOOK very comfortable to me compared to say the SOFCK. That being said I really like the look of the Roadhouse haha.

Roadhouse all the way. If I buy a full size Emerson, that'd be the first one.

Got them in and wow I am really impressed with both.

Having a 15 before I pretty much knew what to expect. The black blade coating makes it look completely different though. The Vindicator is an instant favorite. Emerson ergos are hard to beat and every one so far I have held/owned felt really good to me. It is much larger than it looks. The 15 was a little stiff but I cleaned it up some and adjusted the pivot and it is breaking in nicely. The Vindicator on the other hand was buttery smooth out of the box. I did swap both of the Emerson clips for Benchmade split arrow clips. They arent as tight and it helps carrying them so the rough g10 doesnt shred my pants as fast.

Plus the wifey told me I could keep them early :D:D:thumbup::thumbup:

The blade shape is really similar, looks like just the tanto tip is different. The handle shape has some subtle differences too. Congrats on the knives, both looks great.

Btw, do are all new Emersons come with these clips now?

No, I put BM clips on them instead of sanding down the scales under the clip. They arent as tight as the clips Emerson uses. Nothing wrong with them, just personal preference.
