UPDATED with pics: New Emersons on the way!

No, I put BM clips on them instead of sanding down the scales under the clip. They arent as tight as the clips Emerson uses. Nothing wrong with them, just personal preference.

Ah. Looked like BM clips at first glance. The clip on my Horseman in combination with the really grippy G10 makes for a pants ripping bad time. Easy fix though.

I just got my first Emerson and my pants were not digging it. I temporarily removed the clip and knocked the G10 down a little with some 600 grit sand paper. Huge improvement in terms of prolonging the life of clothing. I think the Emerson clips look so badass and it's cool to be able to keep it.

Meybe you^ should carry your Emerson in a pouch, attached to your skirt.
:D

I still don't get the sanding G10 thing. If the issue is the tightness between the clip and the G10, which it is, all you have to do is increase the space between them. Accomplishes the exact same thing, with no permanent modification needed.

Just bend it out a little with your fingertips, gently, a little at a time. Or slide a stack of business cards between the clip and the handle scale, increasing the cards/tightness until it is bent out to your liking. You can get it perfect, takes less time and you keep the Emerson clip.

Go a little too far? Take it off and bend it back some. Simple.

You would not believe the grief I get from suggesting this. I persist, however, because it is true. All you need to do is decrease the friction between the two, and with sanding, you cannot get the original state back. Even if you want to!

Daaammn, I didn't know people were so opposed to sanding down G10. It worked perfectly for me, is functional, the G10 appears un-altered. Seems like all positives, right?

LOL. I was thinking to myself what kind of fragile pants all these dudes are wearing that get torn up from a pocket clip.

It has been in the 90s here all week and I wear pants at work. I'm in dirt and water all day so I wear fast drying, synthetic climbing pants that I only have to wash maybe once a week. They are perfect for the application but G10 shreds them. After one day, the threading in the pockets was ripped off by my sweet new knife. So I fixed it and I'm happy. How stupid that I bothered to explain it, though.

Not stupid. I was genuinely curious so I don't buy those pants. you can wear pants all week sweating in them and only have to wash them once a week?! Where can I get these? My work pants are filthy and stink after one day.

So do mine. Hose them off and let them dry at night.

Super7 & 15 :)

jazub- I was KIDDING. :)

Made for an interesting image :D

Got the Vindicator with me again today. This thing is awesome. I have had some pretty sharp factory blades, but I do believe this one is the sharpest I've ever opened out of the box.

Jazub, I found some Carhartt ripstop cargo pants that have a reinforced pocket seam for what appears to be tape measures, but my Emersons occupy that pocket when I'm working as my tape measure is in my bags most of the time.

Bending the clip was my first thought since it was easily reversible if you didn't like it, though the G10 could still rip up your pants (or skirts). Would like to see a pair of pants that wouldn't get ripped up eventually by the G10 on Emersons, they have really grippy scales.

Admittedly I don't even use the clip since I can't risk having the knife seen. Though it does stay on the knife. A hidden pocket inside my front right one would be sweet. Pretty sure I've seen somebody on BF post about doing that with pics.

In any case, the Vindicator is still looking mighty fine.

haha. This turned into "The Pants Thread". Sorry OP. Whatever everybody does about their own pants and clips (and skirts) is  with me.

Back on topic, congrats again on the CQC-15 and the Vindicator. My 15 should arrive tomorrow. Pumped. Also, that picture of the 15 with a Super 7 helped. My next score will probably be a regular 7 in November.

Not sure what the complete model number is but the one I want is the regular size, no wave, coated, tanto blade. Probably going to wait until I head to Long Beach in November and buy it from the Emerson factory store.

Something to look forward to :D
