What would be an upgrade to the Mora 2000 based on price/quality?

I know any other high quality knife would be an upgrade but based on price/quality, what would be the one right above that for an in between "beginner-advance wilderness activities"?

Thanks

F1 would be a logical step up. Do a forum search, you'll come up with hundreds of hits for Fallkniven.

Staying in the same basic Scandinavian category but raising the price point slightly, check out Helle and Wood Jewel knives.

I like the Helle Odel, but I could also get interested in the Wind for general utility. I have a Nying, a different sort of knife. Funny, it is stubby and strong but it will surprise you with how long it keeps its razor edge.

I want a Wood Jewel Fishing Knife myself, but as an upgrade from the M2K i'd say any of the knives with blades between 3 and 4 inches.

I like the look of the Helle Storm. I wonder what the die-hard F1 fans would think about a comparison, since they're almost the same price point.

I'm not dissing Fallkniven because they make superb products (and their fans will kill me :o ) but I personally don't like convex edges, so, FOR ME, that's one thing I would prefer in the Storm. YMMV.

Just traded for a Kellam 'Fang'. All I have to say is 'WOW!!' Haven't really had a whole lot of time to put it through it's paces, but it feels great in the hand, fits it's sheath incredibly well. Came very sharp, shaving +. I love my mora, but this kinda feels like a Ferrari of Mora's. Been using it for mostly for food prep and some wood work. A++ performance so far. Got it two days ago, and it hasn't really left my hand. (I just got in a Steel Heart in too.) Which says something!

Why not, they seem to be all the rage, I have zero experience with a convex edge but have been thinking about convexing something because it is supposed to be so good. Chris

I'm no expert, but just through playing with these edges, I found my preference for convexes on choppers, and flat grinds/Scands on my cutters.

Just my .02 though. Thought it might give you something to think about.

I hear you on those Kellams. I don't own one but would really love one. They're just gorgeous. I'm leaning towards that Striker model at the moment, it looks like a wicked bushcraft blade. Normally I'd go for a slightly longer blade like the Fang, but lately it seems like I want even more control than the ~4" blades offer me, for things like carving and cutting a hole/divot in wood. The price tag is a little much for me at the moment, but probably worth saving up for.

I was thinking of posting a review on here as I start putting it through it's paces. At the moment I highly recommend one.
