"upscale" or "upgraded" Rat 1? Will we ever see more scale and steel options?

Yes, it does feel smooth. I was hoping for a more textured feel. Still nice, nonetheless.

It reminds me more of Case Yellow than tan, but I like it.

Just did first actual work with it, cutting a fiberglass screen and the edge hold okay, I mean it is fiberglass, so the hair whittling is gone but it's still sharp to cut stuff.

I've wanted these so bad I went nuts and ordered an Olive Drab, Carbon Fiber and Orange.

All 3 are perfect, just an awesome knife made even better!!!!

D2 begs to be used.

on my desert tan, I'm going to strip the black paint off the clip to match the satin blade and keep it tip down back-pocket carry (my favorite back pocket knife ever). The CF's clip will remain black and tip up for front pocket carry.

I haven't found the D2 holds an edge for a super long time versus my other knife steels (440c, 1095) but I was surprised how quickly it sharpened back up given all I ever hear is that it's hard to sharpen. Maybe since I use diamonds, but it was as easy as 1095. I actually find 440C to be a little harder to sharpen. Still it keeps a working edge noticeably longer so more time between touch ups.

I keep asking and am wondering if it's not something anyone wants to answer or if they just haven't noticed...

But what's the HRC rating of the D2 in these?

I haven't gotten an official figure on that yet, but I would guess 58-60.

Just in case anyone is looking, the CF D2 version is back up on knifeworks website. 2 per customer limit, bought mine today. I was so bummed when I missed out on the first batch.
