US only

But it’s not the buyer taking the risk, it’s the sellers responsibility until it delivers. If I sell you a knife and it doesn’t show I need to refund you. Now I’m out a knife and money.
Too many anymore think that as a seller you are off the hook once you hand it to the post office. Not the case at all, as the seller I’m only finished when you have the knife you bought.
I always tell people I accept the risk and take full responsibility if it doesn't arrive. 🤷‍♂️

In today’s digital world, customs forms in Canada are super simple. I go online…type in the address and it generates the correct address. Type in the product and cost. I click submit and print.

Go to the PO, they scan my barcode, out comes the sticker and they stick it on the box.

The only thing that hurts is the shipping cost.

So the USPS doesn’t have this online option? Seems to me that they probably do. But what do I know, I’m Canadian, eh? 😁
Also in Canada and occasionally ship Internationally. With Canada Post I just login online.Type in the address and phone number. For the Customs, I enter the Quantity, Description, Item weight,Origin Country and Value.Confirm everything is correct,Pay the postage with my CC or even PP.Print my label attach it to the box and bring it to the PO.At the PO, I can have them simply hand it to them at the counter where its scanned...Done.There is even the option to drop it off at the self checkout box...No Contact with anybody. There's even another option, for the laziest of people - arranging a pickup online at an appointed time and even without a shipping label printed; for a small fee $3.50.

Also If I don't have a printer, I can show them at the PO, the QR code on my phone via email shipping confirmation and a label will be printed on the spot and attached to the package. All at no extra cost.

I have to admit, I don't like to ship to some Countries where tracked shipments are extremely expensive or have lengthy arrival times. If the buyer doesn't mind I'm Ok with it.Just don't keep asking me if its there yet!!!

its that damn customs form tbh. also although I was lucky enough to not have had any customs issues in the past, past performance does not indicate future

I shipped internationally twice (Australia and Netherlands), and it was a massive hassle both times. I physically ship my packages out, and it’s more more tedious and consuming with the custom forms and all the extra stuff. The custom form boxes are small and hard to write legibly on. I usually only have a small window of time for the post office, and it ends up taking much longer than necessary. I’d prefer never to go through the hassle again.

This is my experience.
I cannot fill out the paperwork online for international shipping via USPS (I’ve tried recently in the last 6 months). I always end up shipping it in person at the post office. Filling out the paperwork is a hassle, and it’s just a pain dealing with the post office. Plus the fees are a random shot in the dark with what they will cost. Last time I had sticker shock, but I paid it because it was a gift for a friend overseas.
It’s simply not worth it to me to sell internationally.

Every lost package I have had has been on an international sale back when I used First Class International. Most of my buyers did not want to pay for priority shipping that usually arrives. I also had a knife confiscated when using eBay's Global Shipping Program. Just not worth the risk to me anymore.

It's not only knives, it's files. I want to buy some antique metalwork files since they're in silver-steel and made by Jessop in UK. Good stuff, but for some reason the sellers do not export where they did 5+ years back. What's the world coming to?
