If you don't want to ship outside of the US that's your choice to make but please look at the url bar in your browser. It says WWW, not USW.

People from around the world are a reading your sales thread. Please be courteous and don't make them wade through your musings to find that you don't want to do business with them in the end. Please state any restrictions you might have up front.

Thank you.

Proper sales listings are short and to the point.

How difficult is it to read through a listing to get the particulars?

I find your post much a do about nothing.

I think its not too much to ask when someone posts for sale they do like so many others and in bold type in the first few sentences

USA ONLY

its not being silly of him to ask for this, as I know the feeling, having looked through some items with an international website, arranging a purchase then discovering it was all moot as the seller neglected to mention until the very end : "I cant ship this to USA"

Please read my post again. I'm not talking about posts that are short and to the point.

I would love to open my sales to every member of BFC but the risks are just too great for me to do so. I worry terribly as it is now that my goods won't arrive in the buyer's hands when selling CONUS, I would need Xanax to ship out of the country. I suppose I could come to an agreement with the buyer that if the knife did not arrive that as long as I shipped it I met my burden but I would feel horrible.
I expect to hear that shipping outside the USA/Canada is safe but my two experiences prove otherwise. I shipped a knife to Israel in 2007 that is still in transit and a knife to Russia in 2008 that was confiscated even though it was perfectly legal.

And right after the price I follow with CONUS, it makes no sense to me ( and it is my knife, my sale, my post) to put it anywhere else!!

This guy hit the nail on the head with this. Would also love ship to all BF members but i am a cronic worrier/paranoid and shipping to other countries has to many risks for me that i would not want to take. I shipped to Canada for the first time a week ago and it looks like it's going to make it's destination(probably just jinxed myself) but might ship to Canada again under the right circumstances. No insurance and going through customs is two things that inject instant paralyzing fear into my brain. If somebody would pay the extra postage for UPS or Fedex so could put insurance on a package would ship anywhere they would like. Tried everyway possible and USPS will not put insurance on an international package in person or online. So it's just a for sure, safe ,thing just shipping within USA for me. I actually want to do a GAW in the future shipping a knife and see if it arrives where ever the winner lives internationally just using USPS priority and would make the GAW just for international people. Might ship to some countries in the future but as of know just wanna take the safe and secure route and just ship locally.

This is not this first time I have seen a thread like this!

Gold and higher members pay to use this site and they may list there goods as they choose!

What do you mean by this exactly ?
I'm not sure if this is about people that don't ship out of US, or about people that don't state that in their add.

I don't ship out of US, but I do always state that in my add.
All sellers that don't ship out of US do need to state that in their sales thread so foreign buyers won't waste their time sending email/PM's only to be turned down.

Up to the seller to do anything he wishes. For some people sending a knife internationally is too great a risk. I've seen people agree to take the risk and the. When the knife goes missing they freak out.

I've purchased and sold many knives within North America and internationally and will continue to do so. Looking back at all of the transactions, there was only one issue, and the problem was a result of my neglect to ship, this one time, without tracking. With insurance and tracking there really isn't much of a risk to either the buyer or seller.
I do agree that "USA SALE ONLY" does present an inconvenience which could easily be remedied if there was a dedicated For Sale forum, (similar to the Canadian Forum), for those members wishing to avoid shipping outside of the US.
It would be interesting to see how many US sellers would use such a forum after considering that the market for a sale would be limited, when compared to the greater potential of exposure and sales within an 'international' market.
I don't fault members who choose to limit their sale to a domestic market only. However, I would be pleased to see a forum specifically for US domestic sales. It seems that the frequency of posts limiting access to purchase has been steadily increasing.
Perhaps there are other members who would appreciate a separate forum for USA ONLY sales?

It's just a request to make their requirments clear.

Mosts posts are fine. Most people state it up front or at the end of a short informational post.

I think he meant that www stands for world wide web and we arent on a separate united states web.

I think a separate sales subforum for the US would be good.

Yeah, thats the part that made me think this was about more than how we word the add.
Thought the thread was only about if its in the add after reading the OP's post just above yours. Apparently it is about both issues.

Just because we all use the world wide web(WWW) doesn't mean much, and certainly doesn't mean if we use it we need to sell to the world.
It's the sellers choice on where he wants to sell.

I'm only talking about courtesy.

What is this?

Just because you got frustrated and had a little pissy fit doesn't mean sellers have to make accommodations for you. Sellers pay to sell here, and therefore have the right to list their stuff however they want. This thread is worthless.
