Use your BFC slip-joint?

I carry and use the 2006 ring openert I got from Thomason. It now has a nice patina starting. I do carry it in a slip pouch though, the stag is too nice not to protect it.

This is a noob question, but where do you order the BFC knives from? I have seen a BFC Native, didn't know there were any slippies....

You have to be participating in the individual sub-forum while an order is being planned. Or maybe you can get lucky on the exchange after they ship out to people.

I know this here traditional forum has done forum knives for at least the past 3 years. The Wilderness & Survival Skills forum has done at least a couple, the Busse forum has done at least one, etc...

BFC is a rockin' place to be!

I did a little more investigating and figured it out! Thanks for the heads up:thumbup:. I'm gonna have to keep a closer eye over here a BFC slippie would be pretty durn cool:cool:

well I've got the Canittler, which I don't carry because it fell half way apart. I haven't heard anyone else with the same problems, so I guess I just got the bum knife in that bunch. 1Pin popped and that scale warped and isn't secure. I've only been forgetting to contact Canal Street for 2 years now  Pity too, otherwise I really like the knife, classy, thin but still robust enough frame-wise to be a good user. One of these days I'll have to either get in touch with CSC or just fix the thing myself.

I've got the 08 Northwoods stockman, and I do carry that quite a bit. It was a little smaller than I usually like, but it's grown on me. I like to carry one heavier knife and one smaller, so the Northwoods has become a normal EDC filling that smaller knife role. Nice little user.

And I have one of the Barlows coming that will definitely be going my pocket.

Like several others have said, I don't own any safe queens, or for that matter a safe :D . They all get carried.

The first Traditional forums knife I had was the '06 CSC Ring Opener, nice knife, well made and it sees some EDC time but because of its size it usually only sees light duty fancy pants time.

The '07 CSC Canittler saw a little more EDC use in the beginning but because it was such a pretty knife, again it sees light duty use.

Now the '08 Northwoods medium Stockman, well lets just say I learned to love this knife to the point where it is a must carry knife, it's always in my pocket.

Even though it came with the tips of the blades burnt by the grinder and blades as dull as a McDonalds plastic fork, I sharpened them to my exacting standards and learned to love it even more.

I've rubbed the smooth warm stag scales to the point where the shield, (there's something about that arrow shield I really love) is perfectly flush with the scales.

The only one I've never used is the '05 Schrade Collectors Forum, Uncle Henry's Lost Souls Knife and only because the knife came with all this Schrade Memorabilia donated by a forum member, Schrade filed for bankruptcy right after so the lnife sits in it's box with all it's collectibles.

I too am looking forward to the barlow. I have one of each (96 ring knife, 97 Cannittler, 98 small stockman) and carry them on occasions.:D.

Wasn't the ring knife from 06 and the Cannittler from 07?

Yes:D. Been working so hard over the last two months, I forgot the decade. ;).

Well, can you remember if we have 1 month or 2 for the waiting part? :p

May the Folksie be with you my friend, some advice to someone who has been through many of these Forum Knives,

1) These guys that do this here, Gus and Steve) do it at no profit for themselves or the forum, they do it outta love for the community and the hobby, so be patient, they all have lives outside of here.

2) A watched pot never boils, the best thing to do is be patient and wait, it'll get there, I haven't missed one yet and none of 'em have missed me.

3) If you check everyday, the anticipation will kill you, by the time it gets there you'll be so wound up you won't appreciate the enormous amount of work and time donated by the people who put this together.

So in closing, be patient, it'll get there, you'll most likely be happy, (can't please everyone) and don't forget to thank the guys that give an awful lot of themselves to make this happen.

Thanks Gus and Steve, I'm lookin' forward to seein' and hearin' more about it. :)

By all means, point well taken. I'm not in a hurry, that's for sure.
I've waited much longer on other things.
I know that Gus and Steven went to a lot of work for us.
And have quite a bit more ahead for themselves with shipping etc..

I didn't think my previous post sounded like I was being impatient. Guess it could be read that way.

I was just making fun of Gus for being in the wrong decade. :D

What is so great about waiting for the fourm knife, is that I still have one coming. No matter if it takes awhile, sometimes I just remember......I got one coming! It is a great feeling. Forum knives are worth the wait, because the value is in the wait.

It's not you it's me, wait sounds like I'm breakin' up with you, what I meant was, you didn't really sound impatient, I feel so sorry for all the work we put these guys through and knowin' that the only compensation they usually get is a few thanks from us, but they also have to deal with the complaints, accusations of them makin' money and so on.

I get like a big brother and I wanna make sure no one takes out their frustrations on 'em, It's gonna get real hard to find some one to do this next year if the guys this year get beat up.

It usually starts right about now with, "are they here yet" posts and by Thanksgiving some people are gettin' a little anxious/nasty.

All is well and peace to all.

Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving! OMG!

:D:D
Just kidding.
So, you breaking up with me or what?

I have another forum knife (from another forum of course) that is due sometime this year.
I also have 14 new models on order from somewhere else.
So it's usually a waiting game for me.

All is good. :)
