Use your head, not your knife!

I suggest you look up "Boor"

LOL!

Commander,
I see you are new to these forums. Only 40 posts so far, but good ones.

As you will also see, some of the members have 12, 13, 14,000 posts or more!
They don't have a life. Most are not very smart. 'Spoiled brat' would define many of them. Alchohol consumption seems to be a big part of their lives.

Many of them have a mental illness that cause them to worship certain brands of knives. They will jump in almost any knife conversation and suggest their brand, (even if the original person never asked about it). They gang up with each other and attack anyone who questions their worldview of 'the best knife'. Don't try to reason with them. They fancy themselves as knowledgeable survivalists. Your average survival instructor or SF military man would laugh at their crude understanding of technique and equipment.

One good aspect of this failing economy will be that luxury items will be the first things to go away. Expensive, over priced, over hyped items will sit on shelves as fat jaded consumers redistribute their income towards more important things like food, gas and the like.

Hopefully the consumers of these luxury items will go away also and quit annoying others on this forum.

Gentlemen, I suggest you all recall we are in the General Knife Discussion, not Whine & Cheese. Please keep the conversation focused on the knives and their uses, not on each other, especially not on juvenile psychological analyses of people you do not know.

I guess one of the reasons I started the thread is because I can picture someone desperately prying on... say, a padlocked door.... as I smash it with a rock.. I also have in mind a situation of dire need, WITHOUT ideal tools.

@ Bearcut: Understood. Indeed I am new to this forum and to the internet in general, but certainly not new to people. What you say in your recent post echoes my thoughts as well, but let us leave this where it currently lies, no sense stirring the pot. Thanks for the open welcome as well as the friendly conversational reciprocation, it is much apprieciated;)

@ Esav, many apologies my good man. As a new addition to this forum I certainly wish not to offend anyone. I, like yourself, would rather focus on mature and insightful discussion concerning the topic at hand here; that being, of course, knives. By way of similar thought, I would like to be assured that board veterancy does not give anyone the right to be rude, condescending, or boorish toward others who ask honest questions and request honest opinions.

That having been said, let us please continue to discuss this thread in a mature fashion.

Glenn

Glenn, you should click on the link in my signature and jump into the discussion in the wilderness forum. We have some extremely knowledgeable members!

Certainly will do, sounds like it's right up my alley! Thank you, I have read about the existence of the forum, yet haven't actually found it yet... until now, that is! Again, many thanks! :)
