I've seen knives with a profile like this at the flea market, they are older than I can guess, and very well used.
For a knife this new to be so..depleted..is just.. sad...
Found the ad :D
Lists condition as fair, but he does say that there is "some wear"

facepalm whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy such a nice knife who would do that, i really hope it was a fake

I tracked the seller down and asked him how he sharpened it. He sent me this pic of his sharpening system.

That must be the ice pick edition.:) For a relatively small fee it can be re bladed with a spa job.

It's funny how hobbies can be so different from each other. A lot of musicians will pay top-dollar for vintage instruments, regardless of their cosmetic condition. A well worn guitar shows that it served someone well for a very long time.

I don't think anyone will pay top-dollar for a well used vintage/rare Sebenza. People want everything new-in-box in the knife world.

This 64' Strat is going for nearly $20,000:eek: but that's really common in the music world. If I had 20 grand, I'd play the hell out of this thing.

I would call that blade well worn out for my uses, far from just cosmetic EDC. For the right price I would buy it. What was the seller asking?

I'd pay $20 and not a dime more. That is sad looking. I'm not saying keep them safe queens, but that can only come from abuse.

How do we know it wasn't just used for years on end? That is what a knife should look like after many years of use, assuming that was the only knife the individual ever carried.

But that Strat wasn't the victim of a stage smashing. :D

How much is a new blade? That might be a deal.

Blade would run you $135 + shipping both ways(say $30)+ maybe a few other parts(washers, screws). I think I would rather pick up a lightly used on the exchange vs the hassle and possible risk there might be something else wrong that the warranty wouldn't cover, but that is just how I see it.

- I've never seen any knife look like that after many years of use.

lol. It makes sense when old, thin, truly soft bladed traditionals reach that stage. I can't see s30v, even "soft" s30v reaching that level of wear unless it was power sharpened frequently. Or used so hard, and completely rebeveled by hand just about every day since it was purchased... Either way that's crazy.

ice pick edition made me lol. get some more pics and determine if its real. use it more or send it in for treatment...well a new blade too.
toothpick edition...
