Ive been thinking about this lately, WHY the heck is everyone so concerned about weather BUSSE knife has been used or not used  First Busse knives have a lifetime warranty, second some of the most highly valued knives & swords in the world are almost all USERS seems there usage history increases there value. your opinion is requested .:D

Bravado's eye just started to twitch and he has no idea why. :p

I think it has to do with the fact that some people like the idea that no one has ever used their blade before. I dunno. I am not into safe queens. Users all the way.;)

I like both dependig on circumstances.

The fact that I have an Apex edgepro means I love getting users.

They are usually cheaper, I have no regrets to continue beating them, and no fear of getting it sharp.:D:thumbup:

An unused, unsharpened knife will always bring a higher price.
Most would buy a used knife, but will expect to pay less.

The usage history you speak of takes a long time, and is usually from a specific battle or war or maybe owned by someone famous...such as a King for example.

Or maybe killed someone famous... such as a king for example.:D

See Blood Grooves post, this has been played back and forth. A lot of good info there. Personally I have both, I want both and I have paid for both so I am happy with both :-) It would seem that the real concern is in advertising for sale. A lot of type is spent on describing the smoothing or light scratching etc... I agree, usage doesn't necessarily mean way below cost! IMHO

Another good example of usage history:thumbup: I don't think any Busse has enough "usage history" to make it worth more than an unused model just like it.

I don't like buying anything used, but I sometimes make exceptions if there is reason enough to do so. When buying knives for the "user knife" role, I still want a mint, because I don't like the idea someone (who possibly didn't know what the f they were doing) had fondled it all over. :p

question whats the most highly prized and sought after knife in the world???? They are all users by the way:eek:

Come on, surely your not comparing these to modern Busse's:confused:

EDIT- also people are not that concerned if a Busse is used or not, they just expect to pay a lesser price if used.
You got some used Busse's to sell?:p

HMMMMMMMMM ITS a KNIFE NOT A PIECE OF CHINA:eek: that we are talking about

I'm not sweating it, so maybe most people but not all.

I like both, I like users because of what knife hunter said. I like new knives because I get to make them users. Its all good to me.

Yeah, but a knife is much more personal than any piece of china. The latter you use seldom, and only for a moment, but the former you might carry daily and spend hours using it. ;)

Wait, are you saying that there are people that spend hundreds of dollars on Busse knives, the knife being quite possible the most pragmatic tool, and then they put them on a shelf in a safe to sit for years, never to be used? C'mon! No one would do that. Every knife I have ever purchased has been a user. I might be persuaded that a knife could be an investment and placed in a safe for that reason. I actually have 4 knives that have rarely seen the light of day but those are set aside for my sons and I guarantee that once my boys receive their knives they will get used.

I love to have both...
I ''collect" some and use many others.

Usually when one has no intention of using a blade they want it in the best stock condition possible.
