Using a lanyard on your knives?

I put lanyards on my folders. Helps getting them out of the pocket. I put them on some of my fixed knives, those which don't see wet work.

This is still my favorite picture of a GB in use. i feel sorry for that bathtub.

:D

And the lanyard is actually beneficial when doing heavy work like that. I turned the knife so the edge faced away from me, folded the lanyard over so it ran down the back of the knife, and threaded it between my fingers so that when I clamped down on the grip, it really locked the grip into my hand.

It is called a hang mans noose. Usually comes on a Chris Reeve. His website also shows how to tie one.

Here is mine. A semi hangmans noose at the front with a hangmans noose at the end. Commonly found on Chris Reeve fixed blades.

Spiffy! Thanks much!

I always use a small 'pinky loop' lanyard. I just slip my pinky in whenever i grip the handle. It gives me that extra piece of mind in case I lose my grip...it will just dangle on my pinky instead of fall to the ground. It also prevents your hand from ever possibly sliding up onto the blade.
