That is my prefered method of sharpening. Can do it just about anywhere cuz most everywhere has coffee cups. :thumbup:

I had a bidet (sp?) in my apartment in Italy. Bein a good patriotic Amurrican, I had no idea how to use it, and turned it into a goldfish bowl. Wish I had pics.

I had a cousin in law ? Any way, he used an old electric pole insulator. It is a cone shaped piece of ceramic about two feet tall. He kept it in a corner by his chair and would get his knife out every night and sharpen it up. I've been looking for one since I saw him do that, but they seem to be collectors items now and overpriced. I just can't see keeping an old toilet bowl in the corner by my chair, so I'll keep looking.

I've used the REd quarry tiles that are used on commercial kitchen floors several times.

they work great.
