• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

Using my Mutt !

I don't think batoning is really that tough on a blade. Maybe blasting through knots is and requires a tougher knife, but it is really amazing at how a thin blade can go through wood batoning.

I haven't exactly tried my rapala fillet knife batoning yet, but I bet it could with a little care and attention!

You'd be surprised, don't use a knife you cherish is all I have to say about this:eek::confused::grumpy:

batoning can be both ends of the spectrum... it really depends...
a smallish 4 inch diameter log isn't a probloem for most sturdy knives.

i've even batoned alot with some of my folders...
but when you get into 5-9 inch diameter hardwood filled with knots.. yeah...
thats a whole different story.
:D
