Usps/Canada post sucks

I had a Sebenza shipped to me as part of a trade by USPS Airmail on Jan 16th. It arrived in Canadian on the 23rd and after that no one seems to know where my package is. Canada post says that customs has it and is waiting to be checked, Customs says that Canada post has it. I seem to keep getting the run around. The customs official told me that if customs did have it would get cleared in 24/27hrs max, the Canada post official told me that Customs can take 8 days to clear it. The only good part is that the person I did the trade with has been GREAT during all this and been very helpful. In the end I have no choice but to wait and see if it was lost or not.

Canadian Customs sucks. They might just decide that the knife opens too easily and "confiscate" it. I hope not! It could end up taking over a month though. It's been known to be exceptionally slow. I'm sure everything will be allright! Just be patient. I know it's hard though. When you're waiting on a knife that is ;).

Anything shipped with a tracking number is scanned when received at Canada Post and is scanned again when it is received by Canada Customs and again on it's release back to Canada Post. There should be no mystery where it is.

it's probably missing because it was a folding knife. Canada Customs opens the boxes with folding knives to see if there assisted or auto and swing out's.
It would of been wise to disasemble it prior to shipping. And assisted folders should be over tightened to not open easy.....just for a helping hint!

I had a trade a few months ago with someone in Canada. Got my knife from Canada in no time but, took about 3 weeks or so for the one I sent to go through. Hang in there.

After the item was sent I realized I should of asked the seller to send it in parts. Oh well next time I guess. I have read that a Sebenza is hard to flick open, so I hope there will not be a problem in customs.

I hope this all works out for the best my friend:thumbup: , must think positive, sometimes things just happen to get delayed or turned around in the mail. GOOD LUCK!!.. keep us up to date:thumbup:

My experience with Canada customs and postal system has been dismal. It has been so bad that I hesitate to buy anything from Canada or ship there.

Example: I bought a CD from gentleman (?) in Quebec. It took 30 days for me to receive it. I shipped a binocular to Alberta by priority mail. It took 21 days. I shipped a knife to Vancouver. Nothing threatening, just a small fixed blade about 3" long. 22 days. I could go on and on, but you get the idea.

Some say the problem is on the US side of the border, but I don't buy it. I have purchased items on eBay from sellers in the UK and the average time for delivery has been 7 days. I have also shipped items to the UK that arrived in 10 days or less on average. I even get stuff from China faster then from Canada, eh?

Yah Uffda, this makes me want to think twice about using the Canada post system again. I hope it gets here :)

Here are my experiences with Canada Post/ Customs... There is no overnight or 2-3 days from the US...usually 5-10 business days. The posties do not work weekends here.:jerkit:
If it is tracable or has to be processed or checked by customs- it will be longer. Our laws are very grey, so always have a pivot on a folder tightened- particularly flippers. If you send autos, balis, knuckle knives , push daggers or a folder that will open with centrifugal force- you will lose them permanently. BTW- " push dagger" is defined as a knife with a handle perpendicular to the blade. how is that for grey? LOL.
Other than that you should be fine.
