USPS Delays

Anyone else having USPS delays? I have one package that shipment was estimated for the 5th and one package that shipment was estimated for the 6th. Usps passed today already and still no packages. Whats the point of paying for priority mail if its not going to make it in 2-3 BD's?!?!?
 
You could send them by parcel post and wait 9 to 14 days. Not only that, priority mail is often cheaper than parcel post.
 
I just got a package today that was 4 business days late. But it could have been held up in customs which I doubt.

Umm that doesnt explain why their advertised 2-3 BD priority mail delivery takes more like 4 and counting.

For one of the packages tomorrow will be 3 days later than they estimated.
 
I know the feeling, lately no package I have shipped or ordered has arrived on it set day. I have had several go over the 5 day mark. I am not sure if it is holiday as this has been going on for quite some time. I would say call and complain but they don't really care and they will tell you the advertised 2-3 is only a ruff estimate. I agree I don't understand the point in paying if they can provide the timely service they advertise. I have had first class be a lot.faster then priority lately sadly enough
 
I've always done well with both sending and receiving via USPS. I just got a knife via USPS priority next day!
One rule that I do have,esp. when I sell ,is to never list an item in December based on the increase in volume encountered by all carriers during the holiday season. It seldom works out well.

Yep, I'm waiting on a new knife via USPS. The parcel tracking showed it scanned into the initial location on Monday and hasn't made any progress since. I'm making a mental note to NOT ship stuff in December again!
 
Delivery Confirmation is NOT tracking!! It ONLY confirms that the package was DELIVERED. The USPS is workin on a true "tracking" system now.
 
I mailed out a christmas package 2 years ago via priority. Mailed on December 8th, or something....The person didn't receive it until the 30th, or so. I asked USPS what the deal was after the fact, and they left me a message telling me my package arrived, like it was no big deal. HAH.
 
It's always like this during the silly season, more so with the postal service taking financial hits. Do more with less, is the motto of us nurses. Seems like they're forcing the USPS to adopt this creedo as well.
 
Join the club! I have a USPS priority package that is coming to me as part of a trade that was shipped the 4th and I have yet to receive it. Bad part is that I told the other individual that I would ship my part after receiving since I wanted to verify the authenticity of the contents and now we are both in limbo courtesy of the USPS.
 
I shipped a package to AL was to be there on the 7th didnt make it . But I ordered a Knife from FL and it got to me in two days all the way up in MA. Go figure. Now I have some other stuff to go out and I can only imagine how this is going to turn out.
 
Yep, it's the crazy shipping season. :rolleyes: I had a USPS priority package going from Washington state to Colorado take almost a whole week. It was scheduled for delivery the the 6th, and didn't arrive til yesterday the 8th.
 
USPS always has problems this time of year. I did q trade last year that I shipped on like
12/18 and it arrived after the new year. You have to expect it around the holidays. Also, USPS is flat broke at this point so base your shipping determinations accordingly.

The USPS is "broke" because we are required to PRE FUND retirement. We paid over 5 BILLION dollars early in 2012 and were expected to pay another 5 billion dollars in September/October (2012). We are the ONLY company FORCED to do this. We are funded so far ahead--mailmen that haven't been born yet are covered....and yet they want the USPS to pay another 5 Billion.
This is forcing the USPS to close sorting facilities and cut back. The 2-3 day Priority mail is now more like 3-5 if you are lucky.

I love my job, but the government is hanging us!
 
Same here. It's that time of year. I shipped knife by Priority Mail to California last Monday and it got there Wednesday :). Shipped another one Priority to Illinois last Monday and it evidently will not get there until tomorrow :eek: . but what can you do? :o
 
Yup it sucks big time, it just had to be with two very anticipated packages too. (Southard Flipper & Busse NMFBMLE)

Hopefully something will get her Monday.
 
If you dislike USPS so much, send your crap by UPS, FedEx or DHL and quiturbitchin.
 
I cut them slack this time of year. They get extremely busy with the holidays.
