USPS Delays

I personally dislike Fedex even more. I have pretty good business with USPS and from my experiences, they're pretty fast. I ship a knife out, it gets there in around two days. Fedex took around a week and a half to travel the same distance.

I'm knocking wood, but i've had excellent service both shipping and receiving this season. It's amazing to me the thing runs as smoothly as it does.I would think that the Hurricaine in the northeast would have effect on the whole system.Maybe i've been unusually fortunate, but in 20 plus years of buying and selling, the only screwups i've experienced have been caused by me.A few packages took the scenic route for unknown reasons and were late, but always made it.

yes, I'm still awaiting a few items which were supposed to arrive last week.

Weird thing is I have gotten two Fenix lights I ordered from Ebay as Christmas gifts that were shipped first class very quickly.A trade I had going last week that was shipped priority on both sides were a couple days late on both sides.

I was supposed to get my XM-18 on the 6th, priority mail, and am still waiting for it. I have a tracking # but info is dated. The postman said their tracking system is really old and sketchy.

I had two different money orders shipped by different people on Nov. 15th and 16th. Im still waiting, and the post office is giving all of us the run around. They are less than 200 miles from me. I'm shipping UPS from now on.

Thats your problem.I have had the PO tell me many times that it takes a day or two longer shipping close by because of how it is routed than it does shipping across the country.

Also shipping must be really at a high level this year.My local PO has been swamped and this is a small town.I was told a couple days ago that they had been twice as busy as last year.

Placed an order sunday before last. Scanned at the initial sort facility on the 3rd, electronic shipping info processed the 4th and no updates since. Crossing my fingers on this one, I've heard horror stories on USPS customer service.

Yes this is very common, My shipment in October was 24 days late. Do not worry it will show up , I hope its not a time sensitive issue. Anything going through sort stations affected by Sandy can be 3 weeks late on average. Yes 3 weeks late is the norm however it will show up. The USPS is down personnel , sort facilities are still not working and packages are being rerouted. Now that its Christmas season they are overloaded big time.

You mean being close by is my problem? I could understand a few extra days, but we are getting very close to a month with $800 in limbo somewhere. Thank God they can issue a refund on them, though the senders where told it would take about 2 months for the refunds.

Not your problem but the problem with it taking longer.
I have been very lucky, only trouble I have ever had was a package taking a few days longer than normal.

Sad but true and its the unions that forced prepayments. The reality is thst they are broke for a variety of reasons. These include too much borrowing and insufficient demand.

The USPS is "broke" because we are required to PRE FUND retirement. We paid over 5 BILLION dollars early in 2012 and were expected to pay another 5 billion dollars in September/October (2012). We are the ONLY company FORCED to do this. We are funded so far ahead--mailmen that haven't been born yet are covered....and yet they want the USPS to pay another 5 Billion.
This is forcing the USPS to close sorting facilities and cut back. The 2-3 day Priority mail is now more like 3-5 if you are lucky.

I love my job, but the government is hanging us!
