I had that happen, not with a knife but a ps3 I ordered to get delivered. Like you I was watching for the tracking number and it saidout for delivery on Saturday. I kept refreshing to see if it came and after 6 pm it said delivered by front door. So I run out and start looking and nothing. Looked all over and its not there. So I called gamestop, they took my info told me to call usps and tell them. Many calls and claims later they said that the guy doesn't remember where he dropped it off(really its a huge ass box) and I was told that ill get a new bundle in 2 weeks. Well I walked around my neighborhood for the third time, yeah I tried that too and at the house thats 2 strees down but around the same location this nice family answered and I asked if they had a package snd they said, hold on and came back with a box. I showef my id and got my ps3, it was unopened and I tried to offer them some money for holding it for me but the refused, so there are still some honest people out there. I called gamestop and left a message that I got it back but 2 weeks later I got another big box with another ps3 in it. I called again and they said keep it for my troubles, its been payed for by usps already so I did. Now my issue is my mailman doesnt feel like walkin 15 feet to my door to ring my doorbell to deliver my package and says noone home and doesn't even leave a notice about it. After 2 times in 2 days ihad a talk to the manager and I have a new postman now.
I hope yiu get you knife back, I know how much it sucks waiting for it and then it not being there. Let us know what happens.

Just saw your update, glad you got your knives. Btw im still loving my boker solo one of, cant put it down. Take care Jon.

Very glad you finally got your knives.

I live in a very rural location and we are subject to "mailbox shoppers", people who follow the mail delivery vehicles and "shop" in mailboxes, taking any package or large envelope inside. So I finally broke down and got the smallest, cheapest mailbox the post office has. Now anything I order or buy off ebay/internet gets shipped to that PO box. I also signed up for email notification of mail being delivered, so when I get something in, the PO folks put a key in my box and send me an email that I have snail mail. I drive the 40 miles to the PO and get the much larger than my PO box package out of a lock box.

If it's a "sign-for" package or too large for the lockers, yeah it's a PITB to get there during business hours, but so far, since doing that, I've only had 1 package truly lost by the PO (box got ripped open after getting wet and the Barlow in the package fell out somewhere) and I got refunded for that purchase (shipper had insurance). And nothing stolen.

The cost is only like $16/6 months and is truly worth the extra security if you frequently get high dollar (to you) packages in the mail.
