USPS lost my Blur... #*$&@!!

I once ordered a screen protector for my cell phone, shipped on Jan. 2, marked as "delivered" on Jan. 5. I called the post office and manufacturing company to no avail, and decided to forget about it as it was only $15. It showed up in my mailbox in the middle of May, still postmarked for Jan. 2.

Some Post man is stealing all our Kershaw knives!

Well I just ordered a Spyderco Southard that was sent from Michigan (to me in Utah), but it has spent the last two days in Seattle for some reason.

Same thing here, had a box form Dave hang out in Seattle 2 days. Same with UPS, wife ordered shoes and it took 2 weeks, she ordered a second pair and they showed up next day air, both form the same site?

Its probably the bicyclists working at USPS is Seattle, they are a-holes up here.(no offense to any nice bicyclists)

yeah ups lost a 100 pound steel part that we shipped at work. its in a 3x3x3 ft box and weighs over 100 lbs and is basically worthless unless you are in our very small line of work. im not really sure how you could lose it but oh well insurance covered it and im sure it will show up sometime

Well did it show up ?

Nope. Nothing today. Hoping for Monday. Also...the PO didn't call me back. They said they would after looking into it. *sigh* Pricks.

I agree. It's probably just some issue caused by the larger than normal volume of mail they're having to deal with right now.

Could be...but I don't get why they'd mark it delivered. It makes no sense unless someone just wanted to steal the package.

I have found persistence pays off. Im patient at first, then I will call every day and ask for the same person, sometimes I call multiple times a day. Long awkward pauses help too, if there answer is satisfactory say "and?" then wait till they speak. Its kind of fun. But I am always nice and respectful.

Usps ships saturday so you got that also. Their swamped right about now. Hope it turns up tomorrow...

Also hope they dont lose the package YOU are sending me!

I remember some years we had such heavy Christmas volume, our Parcel Post drivers got to volunteer for Sunday overtime. Not a bad idea, really. In NYC, not a lot of residential customers are home Monday to Friday, but you can get them on the weekend or in the evening.

Had this happen to me except it was delivered to my old address and not forwarded to my new one. I Called USPS and they said after talking to the local post office and postman that they returned it to sender. Anyway Kershawguy sent them back out ASAP after ensuring that there was no damage to the knives. Thank you Dave for the incredible service.

Always get insurance.

If this happens a lot it could be because the computers have trouble reading the label. When that happens people have to type things and it's easy to make a mistake.

I used to work with the Optical Character Readers (OCR). Stupid designers came up with "machine readable" fonts that looked like robot letters, squared off, blocky. This had the destructive effect of blurring the differences between letters like O and D.

The OCR missorted a lot because of this.

We will find that BLUR!

Oh my god! I was drinking soda when I saw that and seriously spit it out laughing! So much win.

Still not safe at home?
No sir... I'll see what happens after the holidays. If after all this holiday mania dies down, it still doesn't show up I'll just buy another one. The USPS has lost Leathermans of mine, and a Damascus Scallion earlier this year. It happens, I get over it and eventually move on... Got a replacement gift for the wife, so I'll likely get a replacement Blur for the self. :)

I'm just trying to be positive.

I had a new ZT due to arrive a few days back. It was "delivered" but when I got back to my apartment, there was package with another person's name on it. Turned out it was for a neighbor in a different apartment building. I went to give his package to him and lo and behold, my package was at his apartment. I don't overly trust the USPS.

Ive had a couple packages show up tore open and no knife inside. One even had the original box opened up inside the ripped package. They werent expensive knives so I didnt pursue it but I dont trust USPS now. Hope it works out for you though
