Thought there might be a few of you on here that would enjoy this since a number of members have problems with packages.Obviously it blew right thru St.Louis and kept on going.Oh well we wonder why the Postal service isn't making any money. The sad part of this Is No ONE ill be held accountable.Time frames are pretty much there except for the 25th

That's ridiculous. I've had a few that look like that. I've managed to befriend my mail carrier who delivers and picks up a lot of for me. These are the people who do the good work for the most part.

It's the sorting machine readers and parcel post barns and annexes where people seem to have low IQs or spend a lot of time in the lunch room. [emoji51]

You pretty much hit the nail dead on Eyedog

I had one like that a while back. It was worse,I think it hit 10 cities before it got to me. Two times in Miami.

Yep. I got a package coming from utah to florida. It's been in transit over 10 days now. Ups ground is faster. Im fairness thougb...I've had nothing but bad experiences with usps and im no usps fan. My current mail carrier actually told me she hated this route and she could care less if we get our mail or not. I've got years of usps horror stories of drunk mailmen and ones who refused to deliver on saturday and mixing up mail.....you name it.

Seem's like that attitude is running rampet everywhere nowadays.Nobody wants a job with responsibility-they just want a paycheck.

I had one ship from Tennessee to cincinnati where I am. It made it to cincinnati...then anchorage Alaska....then back to cincinnati... this was last week. Good thing it was only a rough rider or if be mad lol.

Up until recently, I used to ship through USPS, UPS, and FedEx (depending on value) and they all have their own "fun" quirks. Though I did love seeing a shipment from Portland to Vancouver BC go across the country to NY to go across the border then come all the way back to BC. I wish I could travel across the country and into another for less than $40.

No exaggeration I had one I tracked a year ago that bounced from the West Coast to East Coast where I live 3 times back and forth. Never figured that one out because when it finally made it to me the address was correct.

Every industry is going to have mistakes and missteps.
Most, though, will at least do something to try and make it right if you don't get what you pay for.
Not USPS, though. "You paid for 2 day shipping and got it in 8? Move along, see you next time..."

I would say I've shipped over 2,000 packages in the past couple years with USPS. In all that time, I've only had 2 or 3 delay issues and have never had a package lost when using Priority Mail. The Post Office ships MILLIONS of packages worldwide daily. They have one of the best track records and lowest postage rates of any mail delivery system in industrialized nations.
I don't work there and never have.
Look at the facts. $5.35 and a small flat rate box (provided for free) will be delivered anywhere in the U.S. in 2-3 days. That's amazing when you think about it and what it takes to actually pick it up from my mailbox and 2-3 days later put it in someone else's mailbox.

FYI, do you know what the goal of the post office is for delivery of 1st class and Priority Mail is? 2 days anywhere in the U.S. except California and New York, and the goal there is 3 days.

If you have real problems, go down to your local P.O. and ask to see the Supervisor and explain your issues. If he doesn't resolve it at the local level, then escalate it to the next level. You will eventually find someone that will address the issue.

Also, the P.O. is in the process of consolidating locations to cut costs (and mail volume is considerably smaller than a decade ago). This will weed out those poor performing employees and eventually better service will ensue. Most of their problems are moving mail while moving facilities and employees that perform poorly when knowing they will soon be out of a job. Problems that would plague any business.

I have to disagree. I have lived overseas (Japan and UK) and traveled / worked extensively in both Asia and Europe. The USPS is an archaic pig when compared to all of the postal services I used when abroad. It is not even up for debate; the USPS is not even in the same league.

The overall level of service has declined significantly in the last 12 months. Based on my experience (I ship over 2000 parcels a year with USPS), deliver times are up by over 50% and the outliers (parcels that travel around the US for over double the estimated delivery time) are up by over 400% this year. I have actually have data to back that up, and some folks at the USPS that I spoke with confirmed that there are serious issues.

The USPS is cheap, and not terrible. However, the level of service is going down fast and it is far from the best postal service in the world.

That sucks, but USPS is far better than the other alternatives we have when shipping in country.
I've always been happy with them, but not so much for the others that have lost a high dollar knife, wedding pictures, and also just throws things up on the porch.
USPS hasn't lost a thing(knock on wood), and actually knocks on my door instead of throwing it on my porch.

I have to agree with most, this kind of stuff will make a grown man cry.As soon as it's all cleared up i think i'll just dis-connect and start leading a less stressful life

In general I haven't had any problems with packages getting where they are supposed to go, but my mailman is the worst. If a package requires a signature, he won't even attempt delivery. He just writes out that little pink note and we have to go to the post office to pick it up. The first time he did this I was waiting on a new iphone to be delivered and stayed home all day to get it. I thought perhaps I just didn't hear the doorbell ring so I overlooked it. The second time he did it my wife, 4 yr old daughter and I were all three home. After that time I called his supervisor and complained. My first cousin works for usps and told me how to get in touch with my mailmans supervisor. Well, that did no good. He did it a third time so I called and complained again. That apparently didn't faze him either because two weeks ago my wife caught him doing it again. He was sitting at our mailbox and my wife was coming home and pulled up behind him. She knew I had a package coming that had to be signed for so she got out and walked up to his truck. He didn't realize she was behind him and it scared him when she walked up. She signed for the package and he handed her the bundle of mail. He had already written out the pink slip and forgot to take it out when he handed her the mail. She called me laughing and telling me how it was already written out and was in with the mail. Well, being caught by her apparently got his attention because a few days ago there was yet another one that had to be signed for and he came to the door.

I had one leave the original destination in Seattle, WA......make it all the way to the east coast......Hartford, CT I believe.........then make a trip back to the west coast, but went to Anchorage, AK instead. To make a long story short it took three weeks to get to me and criss-crossed the country numerous times to do so!! Funny part is I sold the knife shortly after receiving it as I didn't much care for it....talk about irony!

Last month I shipped a knife via USPS Priority Mail. It disappeared for 5 days, got to the destination, came back to the shipping location, then went back to the destination and was finally delivered. 2 weeks total shipping time even though I shipped it the day after payment.

The buyer was patient and understanding- there was nothing I could do.

I concur. USPS, may not be perfect, however, they're batting a thousand for me...knock on wood!

Maybe some of these problems that some of the people here are experiencing with USPS, have to do with Geographic's? I can just picture, JB Monkey's, apathetic mail lady marching through the swamps down in Dixie, carrying alligator repellant, dodging fire ants, & biting mosquitos all day. ;)

FWIW- I've made the point to get to know my mail lady. We've established a very friendly relationship (she understands what the word "PRIORITY" means). As for my local Post Office, back in Carlsbad- I've gotten to know most of the USPS clerks who work at that location, & the one's that I deal with, are all wonderful people, & treat me professionally. The doors are also open 24 hours a day, & they have a convenient self service kiosk, which can make shipping so much easier, when I'm busy with other more important things (work/surfing).

I'm presently up in a very small quaint town in North Central Idaho (Grangeville). The USPO up here, is great, & the people are very friendly...even though they know I'm one of those, California types, who looks different (quicksilver/billabong/reef sandals/visor attire). They just laugh, & say: "you're not from around these parts, are ye?" :D

USPS, is GTO, IMO. :thumbup::thumbup:

Thank goodness the USPS has not lost a package from the hundreds I have sent out. From california to Kuwait everything has made it, yes some have taken some strange detours but all have been delivered.

I can not make the same claim for UPS or FEDEX
