funny thread
I have shipped hundreds of packages with USPS and not a one has gone missing.
USPS is my choice over either one.
I insurance it and get signature confirmation, you can pay more to have a specific person sign for it.
I have always had what I consider good results from USPS
Yes the tracking can be lacking at times
Yes sometimes your package can get stuck at a location, but it eventually moves one(at least mine have)
Yes sometimes your package can take some wild routes
In the end though all my packages coming and going have made it to their destinations and it is at a very reasonable price IMO. The other carriers have problems also, and are much more expensive. If you take their cheapy service it lands up being delivered by USPS anyway.
There is no point getting worried about a package until it is at least a few days past estimated delivery. It is an estimate not a guarantee.

The packages have to be manually scanned. It's not terribly uncommon for one to get stuck on occasion somewhere, but it's even more common for it not to get scanned at 2 or 3 stops and go from showing arrived at a usps hub for 5 days straight to "delivered".
USPS does irritate me on occasion, but they are remarkably reliable considering the task at hand. Congrats on the 940. Great knife.
