USPS raising Priority Mail prices 1/17/16

You've also got to look at an increase in delivery points from 144.3 million to 153.9 million and a decrease in mail volume from 212 billion pieces to 155 billion pieces. Since delivery to a particular location is essentially of a fixed cost that has to be divided over the total # of pieces delivered-- fixed costs go up, number of revenue transactions decreases... where does this lead?

Bottom line for me is that they operate in an environment with competitive alternatives (USPS, Fed-Ex, etc.) so the market will determine if their prices are "fair" or not. Each individual will decide if USPS's prices are worth what they get in return, and the sum of those decisions will dictate whether those prices are sustainable.

The majority of the time I have been very happy with the service and speeds, but there has been a few hiccups this past year. They are still the cheapest and will be getting my business:thumbup:

On a serious note: I'd be willing to bet that if the few of the sanctimonious commenter's here, had any idea, or actual real life experiences running a business (let alone one the size of USPS), they wouldn't be making such ignorant statements. :bi_polo: There will always be the :miserable: "KNOW IT ALL" :moon: types- thank goodness for the Mod's! :bee:

So, how about you tell us the basis for you calling people whose opinions different than yours "ignorant." I may have missed when you served as Postmaster General.

(By the way, some synonyms for "sanctimonious" are preachy, smug, superior.)

He and his banned friend wjswiger sure do like to call other people that word.

No no. Some people are too sanctimonious for W&C and want it closed. I can use that word too! They prefer to insult people in their sigline and in feedback. No names mentioned of course so its cool.

This applies to everyone. Esav was attempting to be gentle but I fear that might not be effective. Take some time and read the Exchange section of the rules. The silly and repetitive side tracking of these threads, the constant sniping and name calling and the wide assortment of related bullshit from a small list of usual suspects will cease. There will be no more warnings....only points that I'm more than happy to stack on. I don't care how long you've been here or what your Feedback score is. You will be zapped going forward. As Esav said, this isn't W&C although you wouldn't know it sometimes.

I am absolutely 100% on board with this. I don't come here to be insulted or to insult others. I come here to discuss the issues going on in the exchange, which was happening just fine until the name calling started. In the future I will practice more restraint, report the post, and let you folks handle the matter.
