Just checking to see if anyone has ever had a situation where;

Package was shipped with Signature confirmation

Package was not delivered since no one was there and a notice was left

Package was still not picked up after 15 days

At that time, did you ever get the package returned to you?

I have that situation and the 15 days will be up soon, I tried calling the PO
but, well, that doesn't seem to get good answers. So I wanted to hear
from you guys to see who's had this happen with them?

I'm HOPING the package DOES get returned as the fellow's money order
has not made it's appearance yet either and he is unresponsive to emails
or PM's, he hasn't been on line here since 9-18-09 at least not signed in.

Could be something is amiss with him, or away and not able to check his mail

But time will tell...

Thanks in advance,
G2

Yeah I've had that happen. The package will be returned if it's not claimed. I wouldn't hold my breath on the "15 days" part, though. They sorta take their sweet time about things like this.

Yeah, I figure they let it sit on a back shelf and get to it when they can,
I'd try to call them but unless it's a Post Office that knows you, you can
probably forget getting them to help much, I spent 20 minutes talking with
their customer service the other day, after much time was spent looking through
their FAQ's to find out why a package traveled from Gillett PA to New Hampshire
when it was heading to Virginia, only to here, gee, doesn't sound right...;)
It finally made it to it's destination, a day late but still there and the guy was very
happy, so was I ! :) My best guess was at an angle, the VA, must have looked like
an NH at a quick glance anyways.

I hope the other package that is resting in Philly gets turned around faster than 6 weeks!
it's next week that will be 15 days out and still no word from the buyer yet, hope he's ok
as things can happen in Philly for sure!

Thanks for the responses guys,
G2

Gary, try PMing Esav. He should have a definitive answer.

Well I guess this question is moot now, as the person has signed for the package
today, but still no contact from him, it could be he's not been able to get on line
as he doesn't show signing in to bladeforums since 9-18, I like to give a person
the benefit of the doubt, but back on 9-16 he said in a PM that everything was
gtg payment enroute, now, I took gtg to mean good to go, I can see no other
reason for that, a letter from Philly to northern PA should certainly have reached
my by this time? :(
Being he just signed for the package today, kind of tells me he must have been away
and just returned, this is the premise I'm hoping is the case.

Yes, after a statutory number of days an unclaimed item will be sent back. This period should be noted on the notice they leave.

Let me tell you about routing. It can be done by state abbreviation. It can be done by Zip Code, and it may be done by OCR (Optical Character Reader) where a computer reads and directs it. Our OCR used to confuse MD and MO, for example.

So there is some room for misdirection there.

I hope i'm not off topic here, but there also seems to be opportunity for Postman error. I very recently sent a friend a knife via Priority and the knife showed up in the city and state it was supposed to, but then the Deliverer tried to deliver it to a non-existant address. I wrote Farmington(rather clearly) as the street and they tried to take it to Fairfield. It got sent back to me with a note written on it that there is no such address number on Fairfield. Is there any way to tell if the notice is actually at the correct address?

Gary,

Esav is right on the mark.. And yes, its happened to me. :grumpy:

Is it too early to ask you to whom you are referring??
