USPS tracking not working..

When mail gets processed for sorting, a computerized scanner reads the address and prints a bar code on it If the bar code is wrong or blurry, it will take a while before a human is called in to correct the cycle of errors this will produce.

Yeah, I checked up on a knife i mailed out on a trade-it popped up as the same message you quoted. But then the next day, it gave a history. So I think it may be the website acting up, IDK.

I just punched in a number and it said the package that was supposedly accepted yesterday in Oregon, was actually accepted a month ago in Florida... so I guess that tracking # is worth about two dead flies.

Here is an interesting addition to this issue. I mailed an EMS package from Thailand to the U.S. On the USPS website the only scan that is showing is acceptance in Thailand. On the Thai Post tracking website it shows eight scans in the U.S. including delivery on August 20th. There is something definitely not right with USPS tracking visibility on their website. It is strange that Thai Post can show the U.S. scans but the U.S.P.S. cannot???

You can't print a usps priority label online (paypal or usps) without automatically getting a free tracking number. [ by the way they have now changed it from "delivery confirmation" number to "tracking" or "insured tracking" number on all packages sent by aforementioned methods]

Up until a few months ago it was simply a "delivery confirmation" and although it very well might include other scans, it was not required. But now my carrier says they require scanning no later than by the time they get the package out of their car.

So, your seller must have hand delivered / paid for the package at the post office to not have a free tracking number.
