Utility Fighter Appreciation Thread

I passed up on the UF2 preorder in favor of a couple of DEF2s with full on regalia but then after seeing all the cool kids and their UF2s, decided to grab one before they are all done and gone! Mind you, I do own several cool and OG-UFs but didn't want to be all butthurt at the end without any UF2. Fortunately there was just this one last set of paper Westinghouse micarta scales available at the Mothership which the indomitable NinJo hooked me up with. Honestly, I think that these Westie scales are totally undervalued and underpriced as compared to ECAM and even the highly desirable wood scales. Further, I also think that CPK should just add the extra $15-$20 to their prices and offer everything in the turned and polished Ti hardware because they really make the gorgeous CPK scales pop! I do understand why they are not standard but optional but man for their gorgeous scales, these do them better justice. Sorry about the lighting, it's nighttime here! I'll add a better one during daytime :cool:

I agree. The turned fasteners make the knives look soooo much better. They should be standard. I've been trying to get the Ti fasteners turned before they are blued. I really don't understand what the problem is. But I know next to nothing about titanium.

I love the chocolate Westinghouse scales, they have a lot of hidden depth to their look which gives them something other scales don’t have. Almost like you can see the clouds building inside of them!

Congrats on the new UF2!

Going by the process of elimination, since there was no DIW option for the first UF/DEF preorder or even before that time, you may be onto something! The top one could not be DIW.

Not true. You and I both know I would be wide awake when that one got rubbed out.

I have tried to scrounge up one of the original UFs in that grind to no avail thus far. I have politely reached out to a few members that have them, and as expected, was politely told to check with the next guy. There are two I have not asked, and Gus is one of them. This isn't because I think Gus would politely tell me to go Eff myself, it is because I am sure of it. Gus, if I have that wrong, my inbox is clear. Until then, like I have told others to do, I will try not to obsess over the ones I don't have and will enjoy the one's that I do.
