I also ordered mine with a single edge. As you suggested, in my opinion, the sharpened spine (i.e. the second edge) really limits the use of the knife to a point that it will not be good for anything else than killing something.
 
This thread has gotten too good, and although I am not really happy with the lighting, I gotta play too……but just with the OGs/UF1/DEF1s for now.
