Since the other thred has gotten so long and is realy just about design and devolpment of the valor knife. i thought i would post what i have come up with so far. its far from done be getting there. i added the cut out and file work to the back of the knife. this knife fits in my credit card spot in my wallet. let me know what you think, also if you are wanting one i will be doing a bunch of them and i have a wateing list so email soon so you can get a good spot on the list. if you do want a knife it does not have to be this style but any of the styles we discus on the other thred which is titled "can any one make this knife for me". thanks for looking. the paper its on is at 5 squares and inch

Am i the onley one that likes this knife, Wheres Death's head i have not seen him around here for a fue days.

I'm here! And I love the knife. I am guessing it still needs to get touched up though right. Very nice. Great job JTknives!

yep just some tuch ups, then the heat treat. i will then prpbabley take it to 250 or 300 grit finish

did you want me to start yours death's head. ill use a drill press so the finger holes will be perfect. thats the onley thing that bugs me about this first one is that i screwed up the holes.

I like it as well JT.... I really dig the filework all the way around the perimeter. Looks like it would grip very well.

Good job!!!!

its funny because im the kind of person that likes to do a lot of hand work and onley use power tools when i have to. i consider my work as art, i know this is a contrversal subject but making somthing from nothing is tha basices of art. The steel im using is O1 i will be doing some damascus steel ones later one when i can aford the steel because i had to leave all my hot work tools and forging stuff in hawaii when i moved so i can not make it any more. i will start yours tomarow DH, did you want me to drop the back of the blade down the the same length as the back hand suport like the one im doing now.

JTknives, yeah, drop back of the blade. I believe that would make the choil a little deeper thus making it more secure.

Nice job on the knife.Any chance you've come up with a price yet ? I'd also like to ask if everyone thinks it's wise to get one done with the file work all the way around the outside, except for the blade of course.
I'd still like you to make me one as close as you can to the original design if that's possible.

Looks real good JT! It is actually pretty handy to have a knife tucked away in your wallet. I just have to remember to take it out if I hop a plane somewhere.

it looks like ill do them for $75 each. im getting all the 60 grit scratches out right now befor i go to heat treat.

well ill tell you what how about we meet each other half way and go with say 65 does that work for ya. what kind of finish do you want on you blade, also i was thinking if i drop the edge down it will make the blade very wide is that what you want.

Sounds fair to me. Thanks JTknives. How about a stonewashed finish? If you can get it. If not that, a satin finish is fine with me. Dropping the edge would be a good idea.

i hav never done a stone wash but let me see what i can come up with. im thinking about trying my secret finish that i have been trying to find a blade to do it on. i know your dieing to know what it is, well because im using O1 i wanted to get a finish that is shiny but stainless. so what im going to do is use a bunch of silver solder and coat the blade with it and just remove it around the edge. this will make a rust proof O1 blade that would be quite cool. and i would onley have to take it to 80 grit at the most befor soldering the blade. I gess you could call it the "Silver Valor II Wallet Knife". Ill post some pictures of what this finish would look like tomarow

that is because it is my brain child, i am the kind of person that wants to come up with somthing never tryed befor but also inproves apon current stardareds. i think this process will make O1 or any carbon steel more usable in more places.
