Valor II wallet knife

here are some more pictures, the first one is just the hame as the last picture i posted but i etched valor II and O-1 in the blade. the next picture is just the other side of the knife. Deaths head, you want me to start your knife right now because i can. you wanted the pill hole with the edge droped down and the cutout not connected to the pill hole. is this correct? you also wanted it 4" long if i remember correctley.

Deaths head, im abslutley in love with your knife. im going to make one for my self for sure. the straight edge is so much more usefull the a curved blade.

I gess i should post your new photos,

as you can see it still needs to be finishe to your desired grit which you have not yet told me. let me know asap as i have allredy hardened the blade, i just did an adge heat treat so that if you drop it it wont break where its thin in the handle area. I hope you like the file work, i like using my imagition and trying new things that is why i cosider my knives art

Looks great JTKnives! The second photo kinda looks like a small axe blde coming out your hand.
I love the file work. I was only expecting just small parallel lines. The pattern looks very nice. I would go with a satin finish. I am not sure what grit that would be. It would be cool if you could do that etching like on the first Valor II that you made. Is that possible?

ya no problem with the etching, do you want it like how i did mine or do you want it with all paralel lines that look like wood. on mine the lines connect and on a wood etch it could get close to looking like damascus steel. but i can any other kind of etch like tones of small spots the size of sand so it looks like it is real old and has pitted. i could draw stars and stripes or just about anything on it depending on how good i am at drawing it.

ya It does look like a small ax, but look at it agen and it looks like a pointy triangle that is centered in your hand perfect for a push dager.

Well, I don't think I would want a damascus look alike. But the small spots sounds nice. I think it would add grip to the finish as well.
Could you show me a pic of the knife in your hand with you ring and middle finger in the longer hole. I want to see if I will need file work done along the spine of the blade where the spine is closest to the tip of the knife.

hear is a finish that i came up with for you. it took me many hrs to get it to be able to be repeated.

for some reasion the picture is very dark and the texture is not as strong as it looks. and it is also polished to a nice 600 grit on the top of the texture. it is a very very nice finish and one of the best i have come up with so far. the nice thing is that i am apalying this finish right over 60 grit grinding finish. I think you will realy like it, but let me know if you want me to go in another direction. i onley did a small section so you can see what it looks like but the picture did not come out ver good at all.

man this is one bad ass finish. it looks even berrer as i work your blade.
O and befor i forget, i did temper your blade and its 62-63 RC, also a file wont tuch this. I hope thats not to hard for you because i figured that because it just a cutter and not a camp knife that a little harder blade would be ok so as it yould keep an edge. you just dont want to start cutting mettle or super hard things or your could chip the edge. i can temper it down lower if you realy want me to.

heres a cool finish recipe that ive found looks cool:

Finish the bevels to 800 grit, then paint them with nailpolish. Then dumk the whole shebang in FECL until it is deeply etched. Scrub the black off, then go right to a buff and buff the etched metal with a stiff wheel. That usually will polish the high points and put a cool finish on the deep parts. Lastly, take that 800 grit paper back out and hit all the polished high points. You end up with a non-pitted, non etched cutting bevel, with a matching 800 grit finish on the high points, with some real depth to the etched areas....

here you go, i just have the other side to do and then its all done. i have to turn off the flash because it reflects to much and washes out the finish.

ok every one, here is the finished product.

Did i frighten Deaths head away with my work.

That came out nice. I like the finish a lot. I also like the finger slot, as opposed to the 2 finger holes.
