Hey CRK Brothers and Sisters,

I recently listed a small user Reg on the exchange at a price that I thought would garner some interest, but I haven't had any bites. I am wondering how far off my pricing is. Will you fellow CRK'ers take a look at the info and give me your opinion on the sales value? I appreciate any input.

No box/papers/tool/etc. Just the knife.
Smooth. Sharp. Has been sharpened and used, but Is very sharp! Blade has scratches as pictured.
Handles were refurbed at some point and then had a VERY light scotchbrite treatment (not by me), but they are in great shape with some very minor wear/marks.
Lockup is solid.
Both slabs are coded "C 04"

Ya gotta have patience, it took me at couple of days last time I listed in the exchange, give it a little time you only listed today 10 1/2 hours ago.

The link to your sales thread makes this nothing more than exchange spam. I would remove the link to your sale and ask the question on it's own.......

Hmmm... I suppose I could re-post the same info from the sales thread onto this thread, but I figured the link would save me time. The sales link is in my Sig anyway, but I am never one to shy away from sage advice and will delete the sales link.

Ps: in no way was I intending this to be sales "spam."

It's indeed an honest question but the thread will just be taken down or locked if a Mod sees it with any sort of links going to the exchange. Having a sales link as a sig line is OK as you are a gold member but posting the link seperately in a thread is still seen as spam.

I also think your price on that knife is fair and it will be picked up sooner or later. I sold a small regular user for a little more than that just last month, although not on this forum. :)

Thanks for the advice and the input--it is appreciated.

Your price is just a tad high. I picked up my User Small Insingo off the exchange a few months back for 250, and it still had the paperwork and the box. That was an amazing deal, but I wouldn't drop that low. I would say either drop the price down some if there's still no bites after a few days or send it back into CRK to refurbish the blade and get the paperwork, box, etc and get sell it at a higher price.

Your price isn't bad, but why are you saying insurance is optional? Once someone pays you for it, it's your responsibility to get it into their hands. Just post one price with insured shipping included and protect yourself. If I paid you with my paypal goods, and you couldn't prove I got it, I could end up with both the money and the knife.

Interesting thoughts. It would take a special kind of dirtbag to receive the knife and claim they didn't. That's why I only deal with reputable buyers/sellers. However, we all know that post count and feedback scores don't always completely define a person and we need to be cautious.

So, in that scenario (someone paid me, but claims to have not received the knife) I would then file an insurance claim (assuming I purchased insurance) to recover money? I am a bit lost as to how this works. Would I not have to reimburse the customer for the funds paid and yet I would still be out the knife and the money? I never considered this as a risk and am now re-thinking of the idea of selling on the exchange. How would one "prove" that a buyer received the knife?

After thinking it through (it is late and my brain is slow), it now makes sense. They claim they didn't get it it--you send them their money back--you file a claim--recover your costs. You are out a knife, but now have funds to replace it. Wow. I sure hope I don't ever run into this issue.

Has anyone ever had to file an insurance claim on a lost knife or a "lost" knife?

That is an easy one. If you want to prove that they received it besides the fact that there is delivery confirmation, simply add signature confirmation. USPS is a great way to ship.

USPS Priority Small Flat Rate Box is all that I've used during the past yr or so that I've been "active." For $5.80, you get third-day (usual) delivery anywhere in the lower 48, and tracking is included with the receipt. I use insurance and signature confirmation if the folder value exceeds $200.

Insurance for over $250 includes signature requirement. It'd be a hell of a lot harder to claim I didn't get a knife I signed for than for one just stuck in my box. If you send to a confirmed address with insurance and it's signed for, you're pretty well protected against that kind of fraud.

Thanks for the input so far everyone. This is one of the reasons I love the CRK forum--everyone is so helpful and polite.

there is one thing that strikes odd about your seb if it's an '04. So the fact that there are no papers, and this little thing makes me think you have one that was tinkered with, or it's not an "'04" persay.

What's that one thing?

...could it be... the bead-blasted hardware?
