In reference to Vampire Gerbil's post.

Dave is in Southern Hill Hospital, Las Vegas ICU.

His daughter called & spoke to my wife. His daughter found him in the bathroom. Unknown cause at this time. He may have suffered a stroke. I'm awaiting an update and left several messages. I'll try to keep this as current as I can.

His condition is real serious and this seriously SUCKS. He needs support bad and I wish I could be there. I hope he makes it through this with no further complications. How much of a sh!# storm can a family endure? Prayers for his family. I wish I could fly out & visit him.

If anyone is in the area please see if you can visit. Last I knew is that he can't speak, but he can hear. Tell him to FIGHT & stay with us. His daughters need him & the knife community lost to many decent human beings as it is.

Hang in there Dave. Your a true friend and I don't want to see you go!

Damn, damn, damn. This is not the sort of thing I like to hear. Dave is a great guy and I have the utmost respect for him. It is always the good people that bad things happen to. This sucks. :(

:(:grumpy: I just don't have words right now. Dave has no idea how much for the good he has influenced me and others.

wow......that is awful, will certainlly keep him and his children in prayer.

Sincerely in Christ's love,
John

I'm seriously bummed out right now. Dave is one of my Homies. I will be sending out a lot of prayers for you, Dave. Hang in there, Devil Dog.

Please keep us posted on his condition.

I called the hospital and spoke to a nurse that is caring for Dave. She couldn't give me much information other than that he is very ill and in critical condition. He did suffer a stroke. I will try to call later in the day to see if I can reach his family and let them know they have our support.

For anyone who wants to call and send well wishes here is the hospital info.

Thanks Ken!
It has been great talking with you over the last week or two. Just that the circumstances have not been good.

I am speechless.

It has got to be the will of a much higher authority.

Dave, you are in my thoughts and prayers

Sad, very very sad...........................

Too much tragedy lately on the forum and here at home, my prayers go out to all in need, keep the faith and remember something a Reverend once told me "...it's alright to get mad at God".

Peace and Love Forever'

The Mad Hungarian

All prayers and best wishes. Hope recovery is as smooth and easy on ya' as possible. Take care.

This is terrible news.
Thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.

Just called the hospital and talked to his Mom. Dave had a stroke yesterday and is in serious condition. He has a collapsed lung, blood clots in his leg and the left side of his body is paralyzed. He appears to be in a stroke induced coma but his Mother was very distraught and I didn't want to press for more information. PLEASE everyone we need prayers and good thoughts.

Vampire Gerbil... Much love, thoughts, prayers, and best wishes from my family to yours!!GWS( get well soon )

Frank, thanks for posting.

I spent a lot of time with Dave at this past Blade Show, and he was hurting bad most of the time. I don't think he ever made it to dinner any of the nights there. During the day he was taking heavy meds for the pain and needed a cane to get around. He wasn't the same guy from a year before at Blade.

His wife's tragic death must have been the straw that broke the Gerbil's back. I prayed that God would give him the strength to get through the first period of grieving. The holidays would take additional strength from him.

What do you do, and what can you say when life agonies are piled upon someone you care a great deal for? Nothing, all you can do is hope for the best and expect the worst. I have to tell you this is not even close to the worst that could happen.

First of all he's alive, and being cared for. Maybe he'll even get help he wouldn't have if the situation were different.

If you pray, now would be a good time.

God grant him strenght.
