I had to get a refund on the Dymondwood Vantage Avid I ordered, turns out the seller didn't actually have any in stock. :(

Was trying to decide what Buck to get with the refund, because it would just be wrong to let it sit idle in my PayPal account! :)

Found someone that listed the 845 Vantage Select this evening, so I ordered one.

I'm interested in how you like the anodized aluminum handle. I think I need a pro and an avid force:thumbup:

I just bought the Force Avid, Let you know how I like it when it arrives

Please do, like imafritz, I'm interested in the feedback on the aluminum handle.

I didn't realize the AVID version had it, or I might have ordered it (may end up with one anyway!) :)

Me too Bear Claw, I assumed it was g-10, just not fancy like the Pro-had to
do some reading to accidently discover it.

Got my Vantage Force Select today, great knife.

Really like the blade profile, resembles my Ritter RSK-1.

T-6 torx screws for the pocket clip now, instead of the small Philips my Paperstone Vantage has.

Gonna seriously consider the AVID or PRO in this series!

Just got the Force Avid, and like all of my other Vantage Avids, I love it. The aluminum scale feels really nice in hand. It feels heavy but not too much to carry, just enough to let you know you have a quality knife in hand. The black titanium coated blade works next to the handles( was worried the blade would look out of place) and this knife came hair splitting sharp. It also came with the blade dead center in the liner. Some have seen the Vantages a little off center but I haven't seen this with my others and didn't expect to see it on this one, and didn't... I love it !!!!!

Strange, we never used a phillips on this model. All vantage models use the same belt clip screw and has since the start of production. Not doubting you, just weird...

Your right, I just looked again and their all T-6, I confused it with another knife that I flipped the clip for southpaw use.

PS, do you know if Buck is going to keep making the two different blade profiles for the Vantage line, or will future ones all have the new Force one?

Does this knife really come with the "titanium coated blade" or is it black oxide? I am tempted to pick one up, but was considering making an attempt at removing the black coating. :o

The original vantage will stay the same. We just added the Vantage force into the line.

Thanks, would love to see the Force blade without the black oxide coating someday maybe??? :D

I dont have one(oxide blade) yet and have always steered away, but I like the look of it on this knife. I'll judge once I have it in my hand.
The picture of the black/blue g-10 doesnt look as good in the dealer catalog as it does on the Knifecenter site.

I wonder when they will be avialable on the Buck website-thats a Prosite pic for me.

Force Select with Select Ecolite Paperstone (both with my super-duper highly customized southpaw zip-tie mod) :D

Force Select alone, blade profile really invokes images of the Ritter RSK-1.

Really liking the Force Select, Force Pro is now high on my "get" list.
